Geez whiz, how can I get this guy to #$%$. This is number 40 something article on the his huge under water short. Shorting long term is a fool's errand. What's next? Suing Herbalife because they didn't "fail".
IEP doesn't have Netflix or Herbalife or any of his "play" but their PE is attractive earlier in the year. I'm not so sure now. But if market continues to go up than they will get their share. IEP is consist of companies where he has either a very large stake 20%+ or majority owner like CVR I believe.
Is this a joke? BTH market cap is less than 200 mill, he lost more money this week on Herbalife than the value of BTH. However, it does make sense since he's desperate for a victory on the war on MLM as he has done nothing since last year. He's attacking the weakest link of the MLM industry to get people to take profit in other mainstream MLMs. But he's still a sore looser regardless.
Than all I can say is his investors are even the bigger idiot. Herbalife is doing a service by exposing this Wall Street fraud called Ackman to the Pershing's Square investors. They could have bought IEP and close to double their money this year.
Got to be the laughing stock of Wall Street along with his other short hedge fund buddies. He's the epitome of pompous, arrogance, and self righteous just the way the make 'em on Wall Street.
Researchers can have their opinions. But lets see how many will be reading 'em. Non event news to me. But it gets some long to book profit and shorts to blazing in. The big one of the LBO or privatization is yet to come. If there is a proposal surfaced. Short will get hosed once again this time for much bigger lost.
How about this, insiders are getting compensated partially by stock options (so if they exercised the option than it can somewhat be treated as buys). If there are a lot of insider sells, it just means that the stock is fairly or overvalued by insiders. It doesn't mean that it will stop going up, it just means that insiders think it's a good time to sell (their opinion vs the market). On the other hand, if there are little insider sell than it's probably undervalued and they are holding for better prices. I believe that insider sells will give a better view than buys but again it doesn't mean that the stock will be adversely affected by insider activities, sure it might decline a bit due to excessive selling/supply, if the company business is good than it will bounce right back up. In Herbalife case, lack of insider sell is actually a positive sign.
