That's one way to cover the income they lost from Costco move to MC/Visa. Are those the 1 million customers that now have Costco AMX cards...if so, the 2.5% rise is more than customers will get cash back next year. Use your debit card or pay cash - that's the response I am making. I would not want to be the account execs who lost Costco as a customer (and also the Coca Cola exec that lost the food court account to Pepsi)
This stock is already up 1000% from its sub $1.00 level. What you are reading is old news. Staples deal values ODP at $10.91. There is no reason to believe that this stock will go beyond that number anytime soon. So let's pray for $10.91 and sell then and not have to wait for potential merger.
I think Roland Smith is a big winner in todays merger announcement. He has over 1.2 million options and must have a really great separation agreement. As do the rest of the board members. Although I think that he deserves every penny he is earning (and me too, thanks), there should be some law that limits CEO pay to reality. Not everyone needs a Ferrari, 47 foot yacht or private aircraft while living in a 10,000 sq ft house on the intracoastal waterway. I will miss ODP in South Florida - it is sad.
Actually the optimum price to sell is about $11.40..However, it will reach almost $11 on speculation. You will have to do some sole searching to figure out selling or not. ODP financials are due in the next 2 weeks. I am thinking good news - since SPLS offered $1.5 Billion above market cap on Monday's price. What will they do with all those ODP folks in Boca? Very few will go to Boston.
