Wow, can you say cha ching, cha ching? Pay day yesterday for the directors and 3 or 4 officers. The directors each got 15k shares for $.001 each. At around $15 and change that's $225,000 +. Just for showing up a couple of times a year and doing what Ricci tells you? Oh, yeah, they did have to pull an all nighter recently to come up with the poison pill to protect their little nest egg. Good job guys... uh, what did your shareholders get in their stocking? Come on Carl, throw these rascals out!
what you all said doesn't change the reality that ricci will still pocket another $30m. Until that changes... who cares? The BOD,CI, shareholders have to change his comp plan.
#6??? A couple of weeks ago when this topic first came up he was a close second. Wonder what he's done recently to come up in the polls?
I agree. Just a few million over previous, lousy forecast. The good news is, at least, it's not going to be worse. Stock should go up a little, but I'd be surprised if it even topped $16 let alone $20.
Google decides to give their Voice Reco away for free and NUAN falls into a black hole. In that scenario the shorts make out quite well. Who knows what they know?
" I don't recall an announced deal between Intel and Nuance ...
FYI there've been several. This one from 1/14/14:
LAS VEGAS—PCs from Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo will soon include Nuance’s Dragon Assistant, the speech giant’s technology for tweeting, Facebooking, and playing music using voice commands.
Nuance announced the partnerships here at CES, for both PCs and tablets running the Intel Core and Atom processors. Nuance executives don’t necessarily envision the technology being used at the office. Instead, Dragon Assistant will be constantly running on the new PCs, ready to answer questions such as “Who directed Pulp Fiction?”
And this one from last January:
Media Advisory: Nuance and Intel Announce Collaboration to Voice-Enable Ultrabook™ Devices
Just received my 14A Proxy urging me to vote on Directors, Stock Plan and Executive Compensation (shareholder meeting 2/3). While my handful of shares won't make much impact, I certainly think CI's will.
By integrating with Intel's processor, NUAN takes a another giant step towards becoming ubiquitous.... aka Siri. But what is the revenue from this deal? If Ricci gave it away for free, then it means nothing in the near term, which is what I suspect. It's a tough call... when to stop giving your product away just to buy market share, and when to capitalize on that position. I hope we find the truth out soon.
What will it bring to NUAN? I'm getting a little bit tired of this... should get a life, but still have this nagging suspicion that when the chips are down, that's when the profits come. Whirlpool/vortex.
