    Dr. Scott
yes its true and a useful feature when you'd like to tune out the rude, the obnoxious, the nasty, and all those with unfounded arrogance, and especially those cowards who hide behind the anonymity of the internet including these message boards. So just put them on ignore. I use it extensively. Its gotten so bad here that I only see my posts..And I'm considering ignoring myself as I'm sure so many others have. But seriously, using this feature can make for a more civil board. Truth be told, these boards (no matter what stock), are is a Long vs. Short battle and far far too often no one can make a statement without making it personal, or without virulent hate filled nonsense. A very sad commentary. Can't say honestly i haven't been sucked into it myself. Its an abyss of worthless sewage at the end of the day. A shame because many of those who partake have valid commentary but its tough to hear the message when all you hear is the messenger. I'm sure this message will have its share of rude commentary as well. But just ignore. it's a beautiful thing..

exel conundrum - the truth (JMHO)

Seeking clarification.. I'm not sure what your conclusion is here. In you opinion, is the scenario you described good or bad for the long investor? Are you saying that if this large short position was looking to cover, they would find difficulty finding a seller at these prices? i'm wondering for whom is this a conundrum..
    thanks,

    Early Cabo

I meant OS not PFS. So I'll ask the question again... So Cabo fails in that the OS was not significantly better than Prendisone. My question... Does that necessarily mean that if Cabo was used as the FIRST line of defense (much earlier in the diseases progression), that Cabo would be as ineffective?

  • ulingt by ulingt Sep 10, 2014 9:05 AM Flag

i am arguably the most ignorant when it comes to these matters so please excuse me if my question is just off the charts stupid. I pose this question to the more erudite posters...
OK, in COMET-1, the patients were a very sick population having been previously treated with Trivago and Expedia (whatever it was) with no improvement. I mean, not to sound crude, but the only population that could possibly be sicker were already dead.. Am I right? So Cabo fails in that the PFS was not significantly better than Prendisone. My question... Does that necessarily mean that if Cabo was used as the FIRST line of defense (much earlier in the diseases progression), that Cabo would be as ineffective?
    What am I missing?

my God, where does this statement come from? opele offers an incredibly benign opinion, absent any type of malfeasance what so ever and you, with your anonymous internet or beer muscles calls him trash? He should go to prison? Pretty harsh don't you think? I think an apology is in order.

everyone so sensitive. I did my due diligence. i know the answer. As far as I was concerned if the company says results in 2014 directly in a press release and in a con call, what else do you need? I was only trying to end this dialogue once and for all by asking someone (preferably socilaidiocies) to call the company, ask them directly, and put it this dialogue to bed once and for all. Why don't I call? I really don't care I guess. Lighten up Homer..

Socialidiocies is anything but stupid unlike your silly name calling. He making reasonable assumptions based his interpretation. They may be wrong but I guess I'm saying why guess? call EXEL, pose the question directly..

This from the Q2 Earnings Release:
    r. Morrissey continued, “As we enter the second half of 2014, Exelixis is focused on delivering top-line results for three additional pivotal trials of cabozantinib: COMET-1 and COMET-2 ....

It would seem that the CEO of EXEL is telling the world that his company is "focused on delivering top-line results for three additional pivotal trials of cabozantinib: COMET-1 and COMET-2 ."

    So, why all the debating????

  • All this going back and forth with socialidiocies, trying to determine when final results will be posted is mind numbingly brutal. Why not simply call investor relations? Or send them a short e-mail asking for clarification? Do you expect Top Line data results for Comet 1 and 2 in 2014? Or just some type of update? Ask them to clarify or be more specific when they say 'expect 2014 data' or however they have expressed it in press releases or website or conference calls. is it top line data or some interim update or whatever? Someone be a hero and ask the source for all of us...PLEASE! Enabler?, Socialidiocies?, Wilderguide?, Wildbiftek? Username?, Metro? Stocklooking?, someone???

Like I said, I like technical analysis. I follow technical analysis, have done plenty myself, I'd like to hear yours. That's my point. I'd rather hear your technical analysis if you are a trader. Tell me its overbought because stochastics tells you so, whatever. But to short the stock, then tell me its because the company blows because of XY or Z, then a week later tell us to 'hop on' because X,Y, and Z, just to reverse again 1 week later is amateurish at best. If you have confidence in the technical analysis, why bother with the hype either way, which never has any basis is fact. It just tells me you don't trust your own analysis so need to hype it as insurance or something. Silly. I'd like to hear more of your technical analysis, plain and simple, without the silly hype.

I understand. But anyone (everyone) knows that as with ALL small biotechs, the only thing that moves the stock, absent yet any earnings, is news. You and others like to trash the company, but they can't fabricate news. The only news will be from results of the clinical trials of which there are now 14, of which 6 are fully enrolled and another 2 approved for marketing. So it always amuses me when you and others talk about what a bad company EXEL is. . You say ".there are periods where well timed news would help the share price. It would be helpful if this company took advantage of those times. Unfortunately, they either can't or won't.". You are partly right..they can't. ... because there's no news. What do you want from them. 'PRESS RELEASE: You should see our big booth at AMSCO! Please. You jump on board and hype the stock, then 2 weeks later claim your opinion changed and now advocate dumping it. I understand you are trading it but its comical how insincere your explanations are so, by your own admission, you might gain $1 to $1.5, So transparently insincere. Truth be told I like your technical analysis. I believe in technical trading. But your hype, either way, that follows is laughable, really laughable. So you will short this stock to get that $1gain, when suddenly that dreaded news comes and then you're hosed. But I know somehow we'll hear you were long that day. Good luck though, I mean that. Hope you take this in the spirit of its intent..

  • ulingt ulingt Aug 26, 2014 8:02 AM Flag

If nothing you are an enigma...On August 9th you posted this, "MilkMan, take it from someone who relentlessly bashed this stock right down to the lowest of lows, Its time to turn it around buddy. All the bad news is out and there is nothing but upside. This has turned the corner and the trend is your friend. Don't fight it. Hop on."
And now 2 weeks later you are predicting a collapse in the pps.. What changed? Do you strictly trade this stock or do you have any inclination to buy and hold at all? I ask because at times your posts are in fact inciteful, but if two weeks later you are back to bashing, it certainly calls into question the validity and sincerity of whatever incites you may have previously offered. So are you more inclined to short the stock, buy the stock or trade it?

    You are a funny man....

  • I jumped all over you earlier as your seeming reply to my post was way off base ( I thought you were drunk ) and you threw a shot at me along the way. What I realize now, was that at the time, for reasons maybe Yahoo could explain, there were several posts missing and your reply was to someone else, semanresu I believe, and not mine. Now i see the entire thread.. including those that did not appear earlier and there I am shooting my mouth off at you when you weren't talking to me in the first place. My very bad...and my apologies..

    Dilution, funding

    hey Metro
What the f*** are you talking about? Is your comment a reply to my question, because your comment has nothing to do with it. The question was simply did anyone ask EXEL if they need more funding.. That's a yes or no question. You should also consider buying the book "Basic Sentence Structure and Grammar for Dummies", or maybe a few remedial courses on how to communicate a thought...."How many more clues do I need to figure these out?" Apparently you need a lot..

  • I posed this question earlier to semanresu in reply to his post, but posing it here again to anyone who participated in the CC.. Did they specifically address a question regarding funding needs? Did someone ask the question directly and did they give a direct answer? Semanresu's conclusion was 'there will be no further dilution' I'm wondering if that's an opinion based on the CC call in its entirety or was it specifically addressed. Thanks.

hey username....don't take it so hard. At least you had the nuts to make a prediction and put a stake in the ground. I give you all the credit in world for that. So many numb nuts here have no resolve whatsoever. Good for you. If you are short, i wouldn't worry. I don't think this announcement moves the stock much anyway, they never do. let's see what transpires from the CC. But inquiring fans want to know...Are you short or not?
