Uncle has never been politically correct so don't get me into that! By the way, there will be big events tomorrow as people around the world is gathering to have a parade here on the market street; lots of police on the street and lots of rainbow flags. SF has lots of gays!
Women kept shopping; Uncle grounded in hotel waiting to go lunch; what market? There's farmers market here with lots of people. Went to bluegrass bottle for coffee; don't know why it's highly recommended; SF has lots of homeless sleeping on the street; it has nothing to do with sky-high rental?
Yeah, another $4-5 Bn of buyback was just requested by (chat) board member; don't think Parker needs approval from anyone, Kirby said they love buying back stocks forever! The question is whether they buy $1.56b or $2.85b this quarter, it has different meanings.
AAL does not have ASR like its peers; AAL has BOD (buy on demand?) program?
As of Friday, AAL has traded like it made a 2 for 1 stock split from all-time high over $55!
Most investors have voted REMAIN than LEAVE on AAL; they think Parker will make American great again!
In Francisco and in the hotel, it's cooler here than LA; check the AAL price to see if it hit the BoA $27 target yet; just checking. ... Soon out to Pier
//Well, I'm sure Parker is buying.//
He better, he thinks AAL is worth no less than $43, he bought back 17.3m shares at avg $43.53/share, 38.5m shares at $40.57/share, 39.3m shares at $39.77/share, it is so Logical that he spends all the $2.85bn this quarter. What's the Right formula?
Last 2 big buybacks total $3.123bn for 77,796,271 shares at avg $40.14/share.
//if you have the money it is very positive day//
I haven't bought a single share of stocks since I came back from Asia in April; I don't feel a thing for a while, don't know why. With less than 2 hours for the vacation, I think I'll see what I can do when I come back Sunday night.
Weighted average volume is nowhere here 30m, and only 25% of it can be bought by Parker and his "tiny" $2.8bn. He put himself in the position that he has to keep buying hard to show confidence; told him he should've bought gradually and pay me higher dividends long time ago. People kept buying VZ and T, they want safe havens. Uncle loves big dividends on boring stocks.
Maybe it's good time to visit UK again?
Last time Pound was so low was in June 1985, pound was under $1.30 from 9/4/1984 to 6/8/1985 and the lowest was on 2/26/1985 when 1 British pound was traded $1.052, based on Uncle's database.
//Tomorrow's fall in oil prices will be a bonanza for AAL's profitability.//
It probably won't make much difference to the Jet Fuel cost for the quarter at all, it's either $1.50 or $1.51 with $46 WTI all the way to the end of the month. The dollar effect will be weighted in, domestically, people will continue their summer vacation, till we see big effect on USA economy. Maybe, Fed will help, I'm not quite sure.
BRexit and Black Friday. That's what Brits want and Brits get, all other get Collateral Damages.
You think the World is going to End?
Who else do you think will leave EU?
Do you think the EU will dissolved soon?
Well, Uncle's taking long weekend vacation tomorrow, do I cancel it? Will they cancel the flight?
Yeah, Brits are the one who chose to exit, there is nothing we can do.
10:20 EDT? You should go to bed, not to worry about whoeverExit!
Normally dumb people in dumb districts show results first due to smaller population, don't think London will end counting soon. Of course, what do I know, I just don't bother reading the silly thing.
This thing is like Mongo's Mother is getting divorced and Uncle thinks it's only good or bad for Mongo.
AAL going down another 15% from here? When? They won't report traffic anytime soon.
//Uncle--You saying the market is expecting Brexit? Early results suggest Brexit forces may win.//
I have not pay much attention to the BRexit stuff, but I think there's no shortage of fools in UK to vote for the Exit, the votes will depend on where people live. For that kind of stuff, I would say 1/3 are sure they want in, 1/3 out, the other 1/3 are confused so they can go either way. I heard raining there, you think the confused people would come out to vote?
//Is that the reason the stock dropped about 30 cents in the blink of an eye today afternoon and then bounced right back...?//
Why would you have that kind of imagination? One would assume that somebody with Fat Fingers hit "Sell" button on ETF like JETS, that triggered a basket sell of ALL airline stocks at the same time.
Did they make it Up or what?
Yulie Yates complained about "Pessimistic Reaction Overdone" on 4/22 when she maintained OutPerform on AAL with "target" of $47 (down from $49).
How does she "maintain" "Underweight" from OutPerform really beats the shttt out of anybody.
Credit Cheese does not use OverWeight, UnderWeight ratings, they do OutPerform, UnderPerform and Neutual ratings!
Won't have to be across the board, just don't understand why one company still tries to kill the others for the purpose of killing, especially when they can sell for higher prices.
SNA to SFO for 7/16 to 7/22 RT is only $138 on LUV, and $158.19 on UAL, while nobody else even come close. It is crazy!
