China has reported its first diagnosis of the Zika virus in a man who traveled to Venezuela, according to the Associated Press.
The 34-year-old man was treated in Venezuela before returning through Hong Kong on Feb. 5. Authorities said it's unlikely the virus will spread due to low mosquito activity in the area, the AP reported.
At least 66 people have been diagnosed with the Zika virus in the U.S., according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. All cases were travel related except for one. In that case, the virus is believed to have been transmitted via sexual contact from an infected traveler to a partner.

They're getting rid of gasoline at loss as they're running out of storage, Gasoline is quoted 94.7c, taxes 35.4c, gas station another 7-11c, hmmmm...

  • Refiners continue to Cut, and Uncle Buffett continues to buy PSX; weird Uncle and weirder investors chasing Uncle; but He got all the money to buy himself a Refinery. Even Delta's crying mama at Monroe Refinery which makes no money under current condition. Yeah, it's cheaper to buy, lots of diesel nobody wants, lots of Jet Fuel in the storage. In the meanwhile, Toddy stays away from Cushing in case he gets drown by the oil overflow. This is New drama.

It depends on the oil price as they all have hinted, but the PRASM seemed to be stable on comps, and if theeir "secret formula" of higher oil, higher PRASM hold true, and if the oil price as I believe should bottom in March as more smaller oil companies may have to declare BK in 2Q. Oil may rebound into the $40s to allow some asset sales for the oil & gas, and the PRASM may get into black in Q4. It's good possibility...
Again, everyone can make any guess, but at this moment Uncle believes the sentiment has changed, though the momentum is just hotting up.

//Not rocket science to believe that a market where oil is stable and the S&P has a modest upside is the best market for AAL.//
Don't care about Rocket Science, maybe only the crazy guy at the North Korea is interested in that right now, but letting oil be "stable" at current price and S&P having only modest upside from here so it will benefit just AAL is not acceptable. You say you believe AAL will do well, better from this low P/E situation, but I want oil price and S&P both go up to the level that's good for the economy and everybody. Let me take care of AAL myself, it doesn't need nothing from nobody but Parker (knowing what Parker is doing).

//My parents' house in Milpitas, CA worth 1.4 million. If Tiffany was that #$%$, I would never date her //
Who knows nowadays, my nephew is 2-3 year older than you're, never got a job, never wanted to get one unless you hire him as CEO, he sleeps during the days, at nights he play "internationally", it just doesn't matter if he fights with the S Korean, Japanese or China, his only expensive is High Speed Internet, Super Fast Game machine. Guess what, there are lots of stupid girls wanting to marry him, he stands 6-2, 210 lbs, only time he goes out is Tuesday and Saturday to play baseball with "boring" friends who's "too busy" during the week.
He "owns" 15 houses in California, and my brother-in-law still treats him like baby, everytime his brother buys a house, he also "buys" him one, then they call "Daddy". Well, his brother doesn't really work either, he's only 32, too young to work, he did get a Real Estate license which gives him "discounts" when buying properties. They make babies till they can't take it, boy $2m, girl $1m, Daddy rewards. IT IS what it IS the way the Chinese people "taking care" of their families, not Uncle, Uncle's kids gotta Work, but Unce matches their salaries too.
Different culture, hard to explain to others, you just don't know how much spoiling is just right. I've never gotten into Other people's business, but dating Shanghai or Hong Kong girls you have to think more than twice, especially their parents' influences. Well, probably all mainland Chinese?

My young sister lives in Hillsborough, it's "worth" 3x of that, so what's new about it?
I sold one last year here for $2m too, another one I have to play Bank to loan the buyer money since she couldn't get her money out of China as fast as before. She pays 5% interest-only upfront for next year, 50% down. I don't know how you get your money out of there nowadays, I'm not talking about super rich with corrupted money, I'm talking about pretty well-doing regular Chinese who has many stores there, making pretty honest money. I have no idea what's going on nowadays, everyone wants to know how to get the money out legally. You tell me.

//Looking at things on a given day, month, or year can sometimes seem good, and sometimes seem bad. //
We've been looking at the same ole thing everyday, and we're aware the more stocks you buy the lower P/E we'll see. There's nothing really to complain or worry about, you just laugh at it and try to deal with the situation in a more positive way; Uncle watches, Uncle learns, and Uncle Fights back, it's lots of fun, and that's what life should be. Uncle wants to see American Style 3 Luckies Today, wake me up when it hits $37.77.

//It is about $1.75 here in the Communist State of Maryland.//
How about 20c/gal more taxes? Ha!
In the meanwhile, Jet Fuel Raw/Spot is 94.7c/gal avg for the quarter so far, or $1.09/gal-$1.14/gal depending on added taxes and transportation etc etc that Uncle will simply report them as "the bad stuff".

Time to raise gasoline tax in Tulsa!
It IS $2.27 for regular at Costco, 20c cheaper than branded gasoline in most places.

    //AAL Poster Style $45.55//
I'll be drown in "Cash". Now they don't want to buy or sell puts, I think $42.5 bucks will put most of the puts I've sold at 80%-85% profits. I'm not going to wait till 2017 or 2018 to get the extra 15%.
You think people don't get it, P/E don't really "matter" if you don't take my words out of contexts, to move the share price you really need the good sentiment and momentum. One can talk about how much fundamental one knows about, it's like "Rubio going after Obama", any dumb people who don't know sheet about fundamental and start buying in at current prices will still beat all the fundamentalists who started buying all the way down from low P/E of 8. Actually the current EPS estimate is based on "non cash Taxed" EPS, but who cares. I've run all the numbers and got estimates, there's pretty high possibility that Parker may turn out to be one of the best gambler of the industry. You know a gambler better when you're one of them, if not now, at least in the past. Ha! I'm not going to sell a single share of AAL, even some might be sold later automatically when I sell covered calls at much higher prices, I always get the chance to refill them.

Uncle believes he also heard about AAL, he's not in his mood to talk about it, there's nothing on the report "worth" picking anyway.
"SAVE reported EPS ex-items of $1.02, above consensus of $0.99. SAVE’s new CEO said no sweeping changes are likely and that the short-term priority is to improve reliability and service. Low fuel prices have exposed flaws in SAVE’s model as competitors have used the benefit to sit on SAVE. In the era of higher oil prices SAVE got away with being an unpleasant travel option with poor operational reliability because they materially undercut competitors on price. And they were irreverent about it. It was funny at the time but in hindsight it was also an unsustainable way to do business. Ryanair seems to get this. So maybe the upshot of lower oil prices is that low oil prices will force change that will be better for SAVE in the long run. And, after that, SAVE will have BETTER growth options. "

  • Maybe people like its fundamentals?
YTD, of the 6 Airlines Uncle holds as Core, JBLU is the only Airlines outperforming AAL, AAL outperformed DAL, LUV, ALK and UAL, period.
AAL tracks the Nasdaq Index, both with 14%+ loss, year-to-date.
    AAL trades on Nasdaq.

//that metric too would be influenced by the longer term strategies of the company//
Why do you think that I'm still invested in AAL? I looked at everything, every damn report, every damn number, now I also have to factor in "Parker knows what Parker is doing". Hey, that includes how he'll be able to delever later, at what speed. I have to bet on the economy not going into recession, deflation and whatever geopolitical tension, European financial crisis, and Japanese show-me economy?
To be fair, all I'm trying is to make people a little bit relaxed, not have to worry too much, and most importantly, to Make Money without taking too much risks.
