  • Of course, a classy move by CMRX to release this bad news on a Friday evening after market close hoping that nobody notices!

Can't believe that the idiots at the CDC were pushing this placebo instead of TKM-Ebola.

Hopefully, TKMR gets a bounce from this on Monday forcing more shorts to cover!

We got great news after hours on Friday. The drug that the CDC were recommending for everybody infected with Ebola in the US is a dud. The FDA asked CMRX to drop its Ebola program.

Tom Frieden is guilty of pushing CMRX. Maybe he and others at the FDA held CMRX stock. He hated TKMR and said that it was not well tolerated. Well, TKM-Ebola was effective. CMRX's drug was a placebo or worse.

I think CMRX is going to get hurt on Monday. CMRX was asked to drop its Ebola program by the FDA. CMRX puts this devastating news out after hours on a Friday evening. Maybe investors won't notice? Ha! Unlikely, in this market where people are just looking for a reason to sell.

9 million of the 27 million float is short.

Hence the after hours paint the tape game with the bid/ask at 21/24 before the earnings was reported.

I hope to enjoy the short covering here.

  • They didn't seem to own INVN before. Now they own 4,035,404 shares.

INVN float is shrinking. That is good news considering 25 million shares are sold short.

  • Somebody on this message board posted that it does; The market obviously thinks it doesn't and hence the steep drop on Friday.

I hope it does and if so, I would like Project Loon to be successful. If it doesn't, I hope it isn't successful :-)

If Nat Gas is up 2.5%, UGAZ should be up about 7-7.5% and should be at 3.20+ and UNG should be at 14.60+

  • According to a report Thursday in the Afrikaans-language Beeld newspaper, Urbanus Botha, who farms in the arid landscape of the Karoo south of Bloemfontein and Lesotho in the center of South Africa, came across the crashed balloon and initially thought it a weather balloon from the nearby weather station at De Aar. He called up the station’s office but nobody picked up, so he packed it into his pickup truck, thinking that its plastic could come in handy as he planned to repaint his shed.

“The huge piece of plastic filled my whole van,” Botha said.

Botha didn’t know what to make of the balloon, especially since it contained several electronic components. His 20-year-old daughter, Sarita, was just as intrigued, and took photos of the balloon on her smartphone, sending them to her brothers John, 30, and Benny, 27. The brothers identified the words “Made in the USA” and “Google X” on the pictures, and so Googled “Google X” and balloons.

“We realized the balloon was part of the Google Loon Project,” Sarita told Beeld.

    ...

The balloon envelopes used in the project are made by Raven Aerostar,[15] and are composed of polyethylene plastic about 3 mil or 0.076 mm (0.0030 in) thick.

The balloons are superpressure balloons filled with helium, stand 15 m (49 ft) across and 12 m (39 ft) tall when fully inflated, and carry a custom air pump system dubbed the "Croce"[16] that pumps in or releases air to ballast the balloon and control its elevation.[1]

A small box weighing 10 kg (22 lb) containing each balloon's electronic equipment hangs underneath the inflated envelope. This box contains circuit boards that control the system, radio antennae and a Ubiquiti Networks Rocket M2[17] to communicate with other balloons and with Internet antennae on the ground, and batteries to store solar power so the balloons can operate during the night.

    ...

So, as of Nov 20, 2014 the balloons were still using UBNT equipment!

  • More than 100 patients at UCLA’s Ronald Reagan Medical Center may have been exposed to a potentially deadly bacteria from contaminated medical scopes after similar outbreaks at other hospitals across the country.

The Times has learned that seven UCLA patients have been infected by the drug-resistant superbug known as CRE, and the bacteria may have contributed to two of those patients’ deaths. Those numbers may grow as more patients get tested.

University officials said the exposed patients were treated between October and January.

1000 shares at 16.17 and 2000 shares at 16.12 in the last couple of days.

The insider buys and the great news about helping Freddie Mac close its largest MHC portfolio (177 million) should put a floor to the stock price here.

The stock has been unfairly beaten up and is trading at a forward P/E of about 8. That is cheap going into what W&D is going to be 2-3 great re-financing years.

Can't lose at these levels. In 2013 there was a lot of mergers in this space. I wouldn't be surprised to see W&D acquired in 2015/2016.
