The cc was pretty fabulous if you ask me. I've added about all of today's tiny volume to my share pile today and will continue to do so. Even if they do a 1 for 4, I am fine with that as it will make them more viable in the eyes of their customers, help them get/close deals, and open the stock up to some funds and institutions that otherwise could not play. It also helps retailers with commission costs at some brokerages.
I don't think I've heard many ccs that were more upbeat.
That's funny!....also always better to be lucky than good.
by the way, I often don't follow my own advice and engage the lowlifes as well.
Listen to the last 3 or 4 cc's, in my opinion the risk of a dividend cut is about zero. In other words the div is VERY safe. If anything, there might be an additional one time extra div in a year or so since their reserve cushion is getting bigger and bigger.
Another thing that struck me that goes to your point about pulling out all the stops. Earlier today a poster described the cc as combative during the Q&A. I just listened to it and it was a beautiful call and there was nothing even remotely argumentative during the Q&A. All questions were answered completely and patiently and thoroughly even when the questions themselves were sorta lame and showed the questioner didn't really understand some basic things.
I will also add that everyone should listen to the last 90 seconds of the call. That too tells you what is possible.
All anyone has to do is ask themselves this question....if I had cirroshosis (sp?) would I want to be on this drug? Answer is crystal clear.
Just reread my post. Even if the big bang is only with high MELD patients (and that seems to be a slam dunk), that is enough to turn this into a 10 or 20 bagger from here. If it does get approved for all then the sky is the limit.
This company is going to save lots of lives and make us a pile of money.
I just spent 2 hours studying the slide presentation and listening to the cc. Bottom line, the drug works and it works on everyone. The "everyone" part of this is about the most astounding news in the cc and opens the door to an upside that is really limitless. I spent several years of my life with these sorts of statistics and analysis (all in the name of trying to optimize recording head and drive yields....you don't want to know so don't ask) and it is crystal clear these guys have something really good.
Like you, I've hit a few grand slams and home runs with stocks....CNAT will be another. Thanks again to you and b_fr_nk for mentioning it.
own shares or are thinking about buying some, then listen to it. Extremely encouraging on many different levels. PNNT will be back to 6.60 within a week and will likely be over 7 before the next div payment on July 1st.
....add CDI, LEE, STX, WDC to the list of overreactions to the downside following earnings. Markets simply ugly right now.
from MCZ board which has turned into an utter wasteland. Chicken isn't a paid basher, he is likely a tiny tiny retailer simply trying to buy shares below current price. He isn't very smart as evidenced by his insane arguments that anyone can refute with 10 seconds of research.
Actually that is another thing pretty cool about VirTra....The Fact that many of their customers are in the public domain....Federal governments, State governments, Cities, Local municipalities, Police departments. All of these types of sales are public record, including the price paid and installation/delivery dates. Anyone can go visit and see an installation and even try one out at several places....including GM and Mod Rnd later this month.
If its any consolation, chicken's real-life world will start turning upside down in a few months. I added him/her to some privately funded research that will provide me with endless hours of entertainment by Aug/Sept. Cheers all.
I had been watching CNAT for a couple three months due primarily to hopeful. He has been on fire with his picks this year. Anyway, biotech/drug dev is not my thing so I didn't buy any but continued watching....and kicking myself. So last night I read the release and figure "no chance of buying any shares below $5 today", then I checked out the afterhours action and thought...hhhmmmm, ok, but should be up more so maybe if I want some I will be able to buy in the low 3s at the open. Had a few errands to run this morning, got back at noon and did a doubletake at the price and immediately bought some. I am a happy camper....and I am patient.
Several of my stocks announced earnings in the last day or two....PNNT (very good), EMMS (ok, with good outlook), RFP (about what was expected, good 2017/18 coming), UVE (spectacular results and outlook) and everyone of them is down plenty! It is just the sort of market we are in. IFON, PTX also caught my eye today with their earnings reaction though I don't own any.
I haven't listened to the CNAT cc yet but I will. Suspect it will lead me to buy more.
I'll probably just sit tight with mine. I appreciate the offer though. As an aside, looks like a serious alternative slate of directors is going to be up for shareholder vote for little ole MCZ.....at least that's what the birdies chirping outside my window are saying.
Hhhhmmmmmm....let's see, I can buy $8.83 of assets for $6.17.....and those $8.83 assets pay out $1.12 in cold hard cash every year......Sometimes the stock market is ssssooooo stupid. Cheers.
b_fr_nk, I sure hope your moves work out for you and you score big. But I gotta say that KTCC scares me to death. I do not own many shares but I am still thinking of bailing out ahead of earnings and moving the money to something else that has been beaten down the last few days. PNNT announces earnings after the close today, so that is tempting for a short term play. BAC has been pummeled and will bounce again. RFP is due for a +15% bounce as well. There are suddenly lots of good things to buy and I put NAII in that category. I have added and will hold through earnings and likely beyond. NTWK and UVE are also on the radar for me.
I understand and more or less agree with the point you are making. I have followed UVE and 18 other insurance companies for well over a decade. I have been "in" UVE in a significant way 2 other times and did well. So far I have just dipped a toe or two in and will be adding more over the next weeks and months. Good luck to you and all of us.
First think about the relentless and profitable growth. Then look at what that level of growth and profitability would cost you in a typical stock.
Then stop and think, scratch your head, and look at UVE with a EV/EBITDA of 2, a PE of 5, a dividend yield of 3%.
Anyone trying to bash the company and/or the stock given its current valuation is insane. UVE needs to go up 4X (to $75/share) just to reach some semblance of fair value. Short are in a world of hurt. It would be sort of funny to see the company declare a one time special dividend of $20/share just to kill them (laugh, but they could) or simply continue to aggressively buy back and retire shares or simply just keep running the company as they are. Fun to be long.
When I first read his lengthy article I came across two specific sentences that crossed a line (into the world of defamation). If Borg wanted to, he could take action against the author and probably put him out of business. I am disappointed that Seeking Alpha would allow that sort of drivel.
It would look bad if they gave the reason since the truth is...."We have downgraded PNNT in an effort to drop the stock price a bit in an effort to accumulate shares for our best clients. We will upgrade at a later date when we have full positions and then upgrade further when we intend to sell."
just my opinion
