I think the French police were sending a message to terrorists.
I'm wondering where you're getting this nonsense? Democrat Mary Landrieu just got crushed in LA (Republican rec'd 60% of the vote) -- the country is looking for a more business friendly, business savvy Washington that leads builds businesses, not tears them down with excessive government, taxes, regulation, etc --- the basic tenets of the Democratic Party.
I've briefed Hillary Clinton personally --- she talks things up and comes off as someone who can deliver, but for those of us who have worked with her, she is well known for not doing the hard work, not following up or making things happen --- that been her MO for years.
People want their elected officials to do the hard work, get their hands dirty -- that's simply not Hillary Clinton.
There's a liberal who posts here constantly and his postings are clearly racist. Same comment applies to the conservatives who post here.
Get a grip people -- grow up and behave in a civilized fashion.
A long downward trend in gasoline prices could make consumers less likely to buy the fuel-efficient vehicles key to reducing climate change, Ford global product development chief Raj Nair said in a wide-ranging discussion Tuesday.
Increasing vehicles' fuel economy is "the right thing to do," to reduce human contributions to greenhouse gases, he added.
Ford does not think low gas prices will reduce sales of its fuel-efficient EcoBoost engines, Ford truck marketing boss Doug Scott said.
"As many customers buy the F-150 pickup with an EcoBoost engine for performance as fuel economy," Scott said, citing company research.
Ford developed EcoBoost, which combines turbocharging and direct fuel injection to increase power and fuel economy, Nair said.
EcoBoost engines figure prominently in Ford's high-profile 2015 models, the sporty Mustang, F-150 and Lincoln MKC compact luxury SUV.
"I don't think we've ever had a better year," Nair said. "We're trying to contain our pride."
Falling gasoline prices do pose challenges for sales of hybrids and electric cars, but "fuel economy is a strong driver for sales of other vehicles. Low gasoline prices make the payback longer," Nair said over lunch at a test track near Ford HQ in Dearborn
Dude --- these "thoughts' aren't quite as bad as your earlier "restricted cash" brain farts (but they're close).
Earth to "oneway": last time we checked the CEO said their cost per barrel is $12-16 depending on location---- that's a mighty long way from the nonsense you're posting.
As for your "personally I'm worried about BP's Russian exposure" comments --- no worries and ask this: why on earth would Russia seize assets from a company belonging to its biggest customer community (the EU)???
Get a grip dude.
I think the person you're referring to is that liberal (e.g hamaichi_01, dzee, other aliases) who posts on this forum constantly -- from what I remember he's a Ford UAW retiree.
This liberal is a demonstrated racist and spews hate-filled messages here daily -- he's one sicko for sure.
I think yahoo should remove this pure bred hate-filled racist liberal from its Ford Board --- investors and users of this forum deserve better.
Kanye West and his "princess", no talent fatso bride, Kim Kartrashian quality for lowlife status by any and all definitions.
The classless Kanye continues to embarrass himself at every turn as evidenced by his buffoonery at the Grammys.
Hillary is, indeed, a liar --- having briefed her on defense topics all I can say is she never and I mean never follows through on the things she says she'll do---- the consummate Wash DC snake.
The black community needs to calm down and not allow any of its own to put the police in an even more protective stance. It's instances like this that cause the police to clamp down even harder on colored folks.
Regrettably many young blacks are turning to radical Islam and that's very unfortunate as it will only get them in trouble.
Hey simpleton fredinpenn--- Chapter 7 / Chapter 11 are US Laws you fool and don't apply to UK companies.
Before making completely stooopid comments which seem to be your forte do a little basic homework. As for BP, they're CASH RICH and printing / generating more annually ($25B-$30B this coming year alone). At current run rates, they'll increase their current $35B cash stockpile to $40B by the end of 2015 without even breathing hard -- all while running a $10B share buyback, paying dividends, and growing (CAPEX) their massive reserves and production bases.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I'm not retired, but glad the Congress is finally doing something about the massive debt the US is racking up --- Obama's 110% to blame for taking it from $9B when he first took office to over $18B today.
Go tell that ridiculous nonsense to Schlumberger who just invested a cool $1.7B in a Russian company.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Brian Williams and Barack Obama are demonstrated, repeat liars and our country deserves better.
Regrettably, we're seeing a general decay in our ability to get along, communicate, tell the truth, behave as individuals and as teams.
Thank God our services (Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard) still know how to function as teams --- putting aside racial, demographic, etc nonsense and keeping a focus on getting the job done.
There's no time for that nonsense in the military --- the rest of our country can learn a great deal about team building from our military.
Your comments are childish and racist.
I'm a Republican and have MANY black friends, business associates, customers, and employees. I played on sports teams with terrific black friends and teammates. My wife (a Republican too) has a life long best friend who just happens to be black.
Go away and take your warped racist comments with you --- it's people like you who lower standards and create problems for the rest of us.
I thought I told you (oneway) before BP is a UK company not subject to US Laws (Chap 7).
Get with the program before continuing your uninformed, absolutely baseless "commentary".
(Newly remodeled RAF Club (across the park from the palace) is exceptional). I also highly recommend the following pubs: Kings Arms and the Duke of Hamilton (Oliver Reed's old hangout)
Rumor "on the street" is something will happen between Royal Dutch and BP - merger, JV, or something else and the traders I spoke to believe it's all about cost consolidation and company "overlap" --- they see Royal Dutch and BP investing in similar, if not identical "properties", technologies, etc and believe the EU would welcome a combined entity.
I'm long and adding daily.
I'm not sure I'd use those names, but it's pretty clear they're in full rope-a-dope mode. I was a little shocked they let their fearless leader sign off on that pension slice and dice on retirees --pretty brutal move against the Democratic "base"
This bunch has been at one another's throats (behind the scenes) like you won't believe --- that's why they've failed at basic management. Hillary's staff is actually far worse --- bunch of egotistical, self centered "inside the beltway" nuts back biting like I've never seen.
Wait till the public finds out Obama wants 10,000-25,000 US troops "on the ground in Iraq" again.......
Don't put much faith in "clown hour" (pre-market) --- the big boys will tell the truth later.
Still a great company --- long term keeper for me
