Hey less than3 years ago I sold about 30% of my shares between $10 & $13.. wished I sold it all! So we're down almost 2 1/2 years.. close enough I guess.. Not including the disastrous 2008...
I still have my bid set to $4.61.. bought way too much in the $5's and $4's.. so if we ever get to the bottom range again I will buy and next time won't let the high $6's go without a sale! Seriously a buyout offer is all we got for now.. NatGas as a catalyst well maybe in 2015.. maybe.. Come TPG UNCLE! UNCLE!...
1998 huh.. maybe the panic, fear and year end tax selling is priced in? or Mreits will go the way of the Tulip..
If I'm going to hold might as well add a little.. Hoping the $12 PPS ceiling will be hit by what ever means so I can get out with a decent LOSS.. since it's year end garbage selling season I'll have another bid in the $8's.. I'm kinda relying on Dan M.'s valuation and SDR's obligations not being completed as with SDT. PER? won't stop dropping also.. Lesson learned to stay away from these derivatives created by unworthy/inept leadership looking out for their own interest.. Was better off with an Oil ETF or an XOM rather than investing with TW.. The only thing that may save my investment with SD is what TPG promised an out right sale.. anything above $8 will do ..
There's suppose to be 2 entity at GS trading & analytic that's suppose to be independent of each other.. but you know in this market anything goes.. really very little SEC can do..
Smart money sold months ago.. now selling at 5 yr lows doesn't suit me well.. been buying small lots on every dip and will hold and collect the divi while management gets its act together..
"The same people that tells you to sell now are the same ones that told you to buy at $1900 gold price."
You hit the nail on the..
I remember when GS said Oil going to $200.. then in a fraction of time oh wait I meant $35..
Can Mreits adjust and make money when rates are going up? Is it only viable entity when rates are low? Mreits will disappear when rates are higher? Just being rhetorical..
How did a REIT become a biotech stock? I'm sure many retirees relied on it's dividend and thought they had somewhat of a safe investment in "Real estate" and not a overly leveraged derivative.. The mention of a possible tapering and a slight increase in rates and now it's a BK company!!?? Why be in a business so fragile and toxic that the slightest move can explode in your face like a nuclear bomb? Something is arye here..
GS states a possible 10-15% drop in book value.. did they take into account that a 40% drop in market cap priced in a lower book value?
GS: The firm expects "10-15% downside to agency mortgage REIT book values as MBS spreads widen and rates rise following Fed tapering... haven't spreads already widen?.. Did book value drop to 40% already? Market cap did..
2000 was the Last time it was in the low $20's.. it was in the $30's in 1998.. Got to keep things in perspective.. Maybe just maybe we're trading close to the lows and a lot of the negative news is priced in and then some..
We were $34 in 1999.. what a mess.. Utilities, Mriets, miners.. getting destroyed.. multi year lows..
All I know is SOMX was a mistake, a horrible long and painful investment.. lesson learned.. looks like someone dumped a sizable amount.. tax loss selling?
