What joy to see a courageous truth teller back on the NEM message board!

Not impossible bizarre UPMOVE into WARMER weather for nat gas for 'whatever' reason (manipulation?), tho there will be an 'official' reason IF it occurs.

Kept infinitesimal quantity of UGAZ...tiny fraction of trading portfolio...with no hedge...to observe.

Also charting dozens of o&g-related (refineries/trusts/nat as//crude/services/offshorte, including SDRL...latter trading some into upmoves). Picked up tiny quatnitites of some as speculative 'nuggets' to trade around, as I have been with SDRL.

Watching UNG accum/distr, OBV, minute charts...hmmmm~

Federal investigators say they counted an average of one bird catching fire every two minutes during their survey.

and from the same source, earthweek

Federal wildlife officials call the plant a “mega-trap” because its bright light attracts insect-eating birds that get lured to a fiery death.

    Another source, a snwspaper:

USFWS’s National Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory studied three solar farms in Southern California and found that some 231 birds from 71 species were killed over the course of a two-year period. The cause of death ranged from exposure to high temperatures of up to 800 degrees (by flying through flux fields comprised of the rays of the sun directed off the solar panels), to blunt force trauma, to predators (due to birds losing the ability to fly because their wings have been singed by passing through a flux field).

Wind farms are also getting some heat for bird fatalities due to collisions with wind turbines. Over the last couple of years, there have been a number of reports detailing the impact wind farms have on bird populations. One report published in the Wildlife Society Bulletin said that 573,000 birds and 888,000 bats were being killed each year by wind turbines, which was approximately 30 percent higher than federal government estimates. More recently, the American Bird Conservancy announced it was suing the Obama administration for finalizing a rule that would allow wind farms to kill eagles for up to 30 years.

The Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System located in the Mojave Desert between California and Nevada came online last month. It is the largest solar thermal power plant in the world right now, consisting of 340,000 mirrors focusing the sun’s energy on three 459-foot water boiling towers.
It is co-owned by NRG Energy, BrightSource Energy, and Google, and is providing clean energy for 140,000 homes in California by producing 377 megawatts of electricity. But it’s also causing a major issue for pilots who have been complaining about it for the past 6 months.
    Ivanpah_BackgroundImage
The issue stems from the fact those towers are so bright pilots cannot look in their direction. That’s a problem for any aircraft approaching or leaving the airport in Boulder City, Nevada, as the pilots cannot scan the skies for signs of other planes in the area, causing a safety concern. Imagine having three new suns at ground level and you get an idea why they can’t look without being blinded.
The complaints have been filed with the Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) since August, but have only now reached the California Energy Commission. It’s unclear

Our solar science is not yet sufficiently advanced ... so it remains far too expensive, kills wildlife in DROVES (sadly, dead birds, worse than wind, which is deadly grinder for them), destroys property, endangers humans (trains with blinded conductors) from sun reflection)..

MOREOVER, the manufacturing and disposal is not 'clean energy' for ANY of the so-called 'clean' energies.

I'm an advocate for the advancement of science in all areas, particularly in medicine and in energy. I'm NOT an advocate for wasted hundreds of billions of taxpayer money, as is currently occurring, with no real benefit.

For now, nat gas is cheap and reasonably clean, tho all are imperfect.

    from Bloomberg re coal-fired planst:

Beijing, where pollution averaged more than twice China’s national standard last year, will close the last of its four major coal-fired power plants next year.
The capital city will shutter China Huaneng Group Corp.’s 845-megawatt power plant in 2016, after last week closing plants owned by Guohua Electric Power Corp. and Beijing Energy Investment Holding Co., according to a statement Monday on the website of the city’s economic planning agency. A fourth major power plant, owned by China Datang Corp., was shut last year.
The facilities will be replaced by four gas-fired stations with capacity to supply 2.6 times more electricity than the coal plants.

    =
Coal was quite literally killing people in China...especially children. Some shift to gas occurring, and longer term, uranium.

We have more pollution controls in the US, so here, imo, the danger is exaggerated. Neither wind nor solar can take up the slack (too little energy from extremely expensive methods that are also property destroyers, imo). I'm a fan of solar (no longer of wind), but we need to see more and more efficient science. FSLR doing well.

BTU ACI and some other coals also green....perhaps now that almost all retail longs have likely sold at loss. Have traded some coals, mostly needed to sell at loss...still have infinitesimal quantities of two coals.

JUST info. NOT a rec. NEVER intend to rec.

GORO back on watch list now. Many thanks. Have been wary of holding anything other than 'nugget' of precious metals stocks due to strong dollar (and what I believe is endless manipulation of precious metals/miners, jmo).

The bounce in the euro DID take place and I sold almost all my NUGT into the rise.

I do hold small amounts of several precious metals miners and jujiors and attempt to trade around SOME when the opportunity presents itself.

Silver and uranium miners green today, while BTU is red. Interestly, chart for CLF (fell offa cliff, n'est-ce pas?), is perkin' up...with a recent sale of Northern Ontario based Chromite properties to Noront Resources LTD. for around $20 million I had tiny amount at loss and added tiny amount as it rose from recent lows.

Despite green UUP (dollar), some o&g also perkin' up....will be going into driving season. Many hugely beaten down, some with high dividends.

Do you believe gold itself has bottomed and will not test lower this summer. THAT is my concern re holding or adding to my dollar sensitive stuff (except for trades).

MINERS may have bottomed. NOT SURE what another smack down in gold would do...you think it will NOT happen? Appreciate your insights.

    Merci encore une fois!

SirGeo, there is moneyflow into the PlatGrpMin (Toronto Exchange) that you have mentioned from time to time...possibly close to end of rounding part of bottom and may soon ? be ready for rise (technically, imo). Do you still like it? I own tiny amount. Merci mille fois!

    Congrats on Ivanhoe! Superb!

SirEdmund, will put RBY on my watch list...Merci mille fois!

SirGeo and SirEdmund, among the silvers, do you believe one or two (or thrree) are more worthwhile? HL AG SSRI PAAS CDE EXK MVG or one or more of the silver juniors? Thanks in advance.

More wild_gold slander, lies, distortions about preciouss metals investors. edmundaronson posted his trades.

As gold and silver have been falling (along with CDE), he posted he was OUT OF THE MARKET for any new investments and posted numerous options and other trades previously.

Why does wild_gold post KINDLY to the cesspool bashers on this message board...the distractors and the shorts and then LIE about the posts of edmundaron, who WISELY stayed out of this brutal fall in the metals.

He also harasses geomessenger, a knowledgeable geologist whose posts I would hate to see disappear.

I'm personally a silver bull (for VERY LONG TERM). My posts regarding precious metals have traditionally contained phrases such as "potential trade for a bounce" and ALWAYS IMPLY only holding if/when reversal takes place and HOLDS to my satisfaction.

If I personally 'add for a trade' as I did with NUGT recently, I tend to sell all or most into UPMOVES until/unless reversal in precious metals is clear to ME...to my personal satisfaction. I may place speculative trades for bounces during a DOWNTREND, but I sell all if the move goes against me. SOMETIMES I keep a tiny long term 'nugget' and trade around it.

I do not like to short miners or small biotech, but I want to have a position from the best entry possible. HENCE, my strategy for TRADING INTO positions in which the bottom is not YET clear.

Thus, for biotechs with quality science, I tend to hold some shares while selling into upmoves. My initial entry to PRAN was in the 2's LONG AGO. I mentioned selling into upmoves and attempting to ADD on steep pullback, esp fibonacci retracement. In bioteclh, I mention that one must hold ONLY WHAT ONE IS WILLING TO LOSE before key announcements. PRAN 'failed endpoints' only because the sample was too small, in MY opinion, and included those who had what was at that time INEXPLICABLE UNPRECEDENTED IMPROVEMENT from a PLACEBO. We now have more clarity. jmo Peace n Agape~

Thanks for details regarding platinum, palladium and the various mines and potential long positions in mining.

Wild_gold disparages geomessenger, edundaronson and anyone who attmepts to post

information regarding geology and related economics, links to pertinent information regarding financials, currencies, general mining news... or (like me....) is an advocate for including technical analysis in investing.

Attempts to smear gold and silver longs (or those lookin' to take a long position) by calling them 'trolls'...while he himself spends his days lying, sladering, distorting and confusing on Message boards. An Alinsky tactic. Then he uses ad additional Alinsky tactic...claiming it is WE who are liars, slanderers, etc. and we who are utilizing Alinksy tactics. Readers should click on his screen name and read his posts in context...endlessly attacking gold longs on four message boards...often the posters who attempt to give the most information WITH quality sources.

He often claims to have 'outed' people as frauds. New investors should beward of his posts.

CDE had a nice upmove recently from the 4.29 area, which I mentioned in another post. Posted I had added to NUGT and had no dry powder to add/rebuy CDE, but that it was a very steep retracement area for miners and since I ADDED to NUGT I considered it a possible bounce point. Later wild_gold claimed I had posted SELL AT 4.29.

At every point CDE has bounced wild_gold has appeared and made negative and confusing comments, usually outright lies, or at least distortions.

On other message boards (and here), he often plays the 'victim' card.

NO one should 'follow' any anonymous posters on message boards. On the other hand, advocacy for LEARNING HOW TO DIG DEEPER into economic numbers (see shadowstats, Heritage, CATO, Heartland, zerohedge, etc.) MAY possibly help others understand what is going on beneath the surface. Many professional message board confusers do not want to see critical thinking. jmo

    PPLT up thus far premarket.

GLD NUGT (etc) down some (profit taking).

Take a look at that PPLT chart...incredibly oversold with hammer on weekly. (THOUGHT it was reversing several times before...but now see improvements in variety of PGM stocks: PAL SWC Ivanhoe, PGM.to etc.]

As fer CDEbiscuit, methinks the Powers_That_Be have decided to 'trade 'er' long on pullbacks. jmo

JNUG was up almost 20% yesterday and my NUGT has very nice gains, closing at 10.45.

JNUG = ETF for junior miners 3X

NUGT = ETF for lager miners 3X

    CDE was up 8%.

This particular strategy was correct, THUS FAR.

HOWEVER, MUCH MORE FOLLOW THROUGH WOULD BE NEEDED FOR ME TO HOLD ALL SHARES IN PRECIOUS METALS and in NUGT, tho some miners appear to be launching (or already to have launched: eg., RIC with HL on radar). EXK is coming off retest of extreme lows. IF there is a reversal, might be a somewhat more speculative silver investment that MIGHT be a long-term winner. I expect to hold 'nuggets' of some silver and gold stocks for many years during EVENTUAL uptrend, while trading 'around' tiny nuggets when possible and whle trading either JNUG or NUGT.

Has been a brutal smackdown for miners. Personally believe miners will go positive this year, tho NOT SURE if there will be another drop in gold itself. ALWAYS watch out for options expirations and FOMC meetings, which may affect entire markets, even globally, as did the most recent meeting. Sometimes short term bounce, sometimes shift in direction, sometimes....the shift may be almost ? baked into the gold cake????

MIGHT be healthy to see a huge drop in gold (this summer or ?), followed by CONSISTENT and POWERFUL, HIGH VOLUME BUYING...with higher highs and higher lows on charts.

Dip to 4.29, followed by upmove, WAS a good entry (or re-entry, for those who sold in 7's).

    At least thus far.

Other silvers, including SIL SILJ, are green, also many with high percentage gains:

PAAS only up 4%, HL up more than 7%, EXK up 12.5%, SSRI up 4%, SLW +3%, MVG also green.

NOT suggesting others should trade OR take any particular position (long or short of some exotic or non-exotic options trade).

ONLY commenting some of the technical gurus pointing out gold chart is weak to negative (despite upmoves in MINERS THEMSELVER, which are bulish in at least SOME CASES). I posted that RIC will likely not test lows again after having tripled...now pulling back some from highs. So money can be made even as gold itself is bearish to unclear technically.

CDE double from low 3's to low 7's. Also very worthwhile. SHOULD everyone sell? NOT a rec to buy/sell/hold...only a comment about my take on the overall movements in some precious metals stocks and in gold/silver/platinum/palladium. Dang! Platinum retested lows also. Palladium i up some from lows as are PAL and SWC. NOT A REC for those either. In my own case, I don't have the luxury of holding all positions long term, so I hold tiny 'nuggets' of some miners, biotechs, energies, alternative energies, some niche stocks (or other sectors/country stocks) and attempt to trade 'around' them. My goal is to have some long term multi-baggers, as they say, while also generating cash to be available for family needs.
