df2830, sadly, you are 100% correct ... the Issuer (ProShares) has the exclusive right to "redeem" at the then current Net Asset Value, (NAV), all UVXY issuance, essentially paying you a sum not even remotely related to the basis you have paid.
As to your previous comment ... could not agree with you more!
df2830 ... I completely agree, the decay coupled with routine decoupling from tracting the vix futures together with the ridiculous so-called management fees make this truly a Wall Street top scam. It is just so disheartening, you own say 600 shares with a basis of say $12 grand, after the RS, you have 120 shares worth $12 grand which would need to rise 5 points in order to realize the same gain one point would previously produce. Unreal but moreover, remarkable these crooks are not in jail for selling this to the general public.
I own 600 shares (I know, these are notes) and the price rises one point, I generate $600, after the Reverse Split, I have 300 shares and the price rises one point, I generate $300. So, in order to generate the original gain I now need to see this scam rise 2 points? Yep, sounds right, agree?
That's what happen when she rented a Tesla!

of market's collapse.
Nothing can keep 'it' from falling in price, nothing.
Of course that would be very odd.
1. UVXY is designed to fail - "read" Prospectus.
2. UVXY is managed by a criminal banking organization - "never" tracks index.
3. UVXY is a wall Street scam created to generate debt-free borrowing.
and pays very well on Wall Street.
then again, UVXY was created by a BANK.
Remember, SHORT ever ONE-CENT RISE!
