Why bash her, when you can think rationally (at least some can). Based on what she's saying, would she do anything better for this country than she did for HPQ (or Lucent)? And for that matter, would Trump do anything better for the country than he did for his bankrupt hotels and casino?
What about some successful business leaders for president?
You clearly don't have any idea what a communist or a socialist is, other than a name to choose when you descend into name calling, rather than actually discussing the issues. If you begin by using terms that you don't understand and can't use correctly, then everything else that follow from you initial premise is useless rubbish.
It's a little frightening to see that their 2 leading candidates now are people who have shown that they know how to make lots of money for themselves, but they also have clearly shown that they can't lead. they can't bring people together to build and grow a company (or country). They excel at cutting jobs, not creating them. They divide and poison morale. They bankrupt and destroy, rather than create and grow.
What happened to the Republicans who have shown that they know how to bring us together, and build a bigger, better country, in a safer, more stable world?
No Hispanics will. No Blacks will. No women will. No one under 35 will. and no one who ever worked for the guy or tried to invest in his businesses will.
A third of today's Republicans will vote for him - less than 1 in 10 American voters. At least that's what will happen if he doesn't make very big changes. But, it is beginning to look like he is a typical politician who has no principles at all, and who will change his mind at every stump speech stop, if it will give him a vote. After all, he was a Democrat when he was going to Hillary's parties.
Who usually wins Americans presidential elections? In most cases, it looks like the winner is almost always the guy who tries hardest to bring America together.
Those who try to divide America seldom win. Black, White and s H ispanic. Rich and Poor. Gay and straight. Well educated or not. Baptist, M ormon, M uslim, C atholic, or j ew. City or Country. Separating America against itself is never a winning strategy. when we are ALL Americans.
Those who usually win are those who bring America together to fight the problems that we face together, as Americans, all. A strong America is a united America. An undivided America is a secure and sound America. The most important aspect of a good leader is one who brings everyone together to work together.
Which candidates, so far, are working the hardest to create a united, secure, and strong nation?. Which candidates are doing what they can bring us ALL together?
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”
You mean that America??
Who are the real job creators. Many have said that the wealthiest among us are the job creators, while others have said that the eal job creators are the middle class. Let's look at the question.
Who are the wealthiest among us - the billionaires, mostly. Among them are Bill Gates, ex-microsoft. and also Paul Allen, also ex-microsoft. Warren Buffett, the Kotch brothers, and many members of eh Walton family, too. Michael Bloomberg, Shelden Adelson, Jeff Bezos, of Amazon, George Soros, Karl Icahn, Abigail Johnson, of Vanguard, Rupert Murdoch, John Paulson, hedge funds, and a few hundred more.
How do these guys create jobs with their money? A few own companies that they have a lot of their money invested in, so there are some jobs. But many of them, and in fact probably all of them, also invest in many other things, including real estate (thousands of acres of open, so far unused land, in many cases). Also many foreign inestments in Europe, China, and many smaller countries. Gold and precious metals and jewelry, too. The hedge fund and money management people make their money investing other people's money in various ways. There may be a few jobs there, more for some, not many at all for others. (Jeff Bezos may have created a negative number of jobs, as his Amazon put thousands of small, local book stores out of business.). How much is it - half their wealth, or more, that is invested in real estate, gold, antiques, and foreign investment, things that create few, if any American jobs?
What about the Middle Class? The folks above make or own 1,000, or even 100,000 more than many in the middle class. But they certainly don't buy 1,000 times as many houses, cars, blenders, insurance policies, books, loaves of bread, TVs, or iPhones than each member of the middle class does.
If it is bread, houses, cars, and insurance, among others things, that make up our economy, and give people jobs, who really are the job creators?
If a treaty is not a approved by Congress, then it is not a treaty.
This agreement is not, and never was a treaty. It didn't require Congressional approval. It was simply an agreement, like those that many other presidents have made concerning things like trade, and the control of dangerous stuff like nuclear materials, dangerous chemicals, and dangerous disease organisms, among others.
A treaty can not be easily changed or repealed. These simpler agreements are at the discretion of the president (and the other parties to the agreement). A succeeding president could change these agreements on his own, without congressional approval, if he or she wished, and could get the other signatories to agree.
This agreement with Iran is much like Obama's agreement with Syria, again through the UN, to remove Syria's chemical weapons. Since that agreement was made, you might have noticed that few, if any, chemical weapons have been used in Syria.
We'll see if Iran continues to try to build a nuke. If they do, the agreement says that the trade sanctions will return by all of Iran's most important trading partners. (The US is not one of them, and is not among Iran's top 20 trading partners). Iran's biggest trading partners are in Europe, Russia, China, India, and Turkey. If we want trade sanctions to work, they are the countries that need to agree. this agreement will keep Iran's top trading partners on board if the sanctions must return.
I can see where someone might resign in such a case, but being expelled? If that was the way we handled extra marital affairs, Thomas Jefferson, Warren G. Harding, and many others would have never even been a president, or senator.
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands; one Nation, indivisible with liberty and equal justice for all."
So you admit that the agreement is not a treaty by stating that Congress needs to act to make it a treaty. (And someone who understands Constitutional law better than you or I would need to tell us if even that would be enough to make it a treaty).
But, in any case, Congress has now acted. They will do nothing more of any significance on this issue. Besides, they've got to spend at least a little time now talking about how and when they are going to shut this country down.
Why would that not be a big - a huge - product for HPQ? Every company that makes things could use one, or more, to scan parts and make similar ones. If it's cheap enough, people at home might want one so they could scan a part they need to fix their vacuum, or doorknob, or car, or whatever.. There could be a demand for millions of those in a few years..
The GOP led house budget committee had made some big changes in the NASA budget. The total budgeted amount hasn't changed much, but where the money goes (or doesn't go) has been changed big time.
The Europa lander project has a budget request by NASA and he president of $30 million, but the House budge committee changed that $140 million. why. They don't need anywhere near that much this year to build a lander to land on Jupiter's moon, Europa, about 2024.
But the Earth sciences section of NASA took huge cuts, based on what NASA and th epresident requested. That's the part of NASA that launches and runs weather, mapping, Landsat and other local satellites that look back at our home planet to measure what is happening here.
Why is the house budget committee so much more interested in Europa than in our own home? What do they know about space and earth sciences that we don't?
The agreement between the US, Iran, the EU, Russia, China, and others is officially called the, "Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action". The word "treaty" does not appear in that title or the agreement, because it is not a treaty. A treaty is different, both legally, and in the way it is adopted, and interpreted.
You don't need to do much to turn a million in 1970 into billions now. Inflation works wonders, whether you are talking real estate or stocks. He even did it, while declaring bankruptcy 4 times.
Whether we believe that Iran will honor the deal or not is not important. What is important is that the deal says that if Iran does not honor the deal, that the trade sanctions will return in full force, immediately, and that is supported by all who matter as far as trade with Iran is concerned.
If he is talking about that agreement with Iran, it never was and never will be a treaty under US law, so he must be running!
Sarah Palin outside the Capitol talking about unicorns and fairy dust,
While, inside the Capitol, today's Republicans are surprised to learn that they can't keep their Krap together!
What a surprise!
