@tiglet Most compensation committee members have relationships with the CEO\'s They server on BOD's with their buddies. If you would let the Union people have their own people on their compensation committee would that be ok with you? These CEO's are part of a club that takes care of their own.
What I'm saying is sure the CEO should get paid more, but it should be a ratio to what the employees get paid. What do you think it is 100 to 1, 1000 to 1, 10000 to 1 ect. Then these people get the money up front. Why not give the same deal to the employees. Old Ivan was CEO for about 11 years, Verizon had co-CEO's when they took over GTE. Those people made out great. So your ok with them running up stock price so they can meet a number so they can get bonuses yet let the long term stock price suffer. These CEO don't hold a job long. Yet if someone want to be hired they look at their job record and if they worked at many places the company does not want to hire them.
It is time to get the top job in line with the employees.
You want to talk about a strike? Does the CEO get the same benefits as the workers. I'm still upset about the founders grants that I got and they were good for 10 years. Then they were only above water once. Now the CEO and the others get shares and have a compensation program, that is not even proportional to the employees. Fair? I think not. Look at old Ivan he got a better retirement from VZ than any employee.
