    OPK Top Institutional Holders

There is a hedge fund that has 14MM shares short. They are pretty darn smart as well. The fund made its investors close to a 55% return last year. So don't compare a hedge fun (or mutual fund) to retail shorts or longs.

By the way, that hedge fund has been net long OPK with options for 3 years. They want all the short shares so they can go long options. A very important strategy for hedge funds.

A 500K order got absorbed really fast. Now there are buyers stacking up. Had that one seller not stepped in, this would be over $11.

New position? LOL What happened to the last one? Let me guess, you made money on the trade lol. Ya know gold, you are not fooling anyone. You lost your #$%$ and now your #$%$. Buy why? You made a mistake in a trade. Big deal. Stop taking this so personal. Its a trade. No one is right all the time. To be good at this game you have to stop with the he said. she said thing. Focus on what makes you money. Not what other do, Spend more time doing DD and not bashing longs or shorts. It means nothing. Try and focus man. Really.

I cant speak for fdaman but I can tell you that ETRADE sent me a letter asking for me to release my shares back to them and would credit my account 4% APR. I know that Ameritrade has no shares to short and will not allow ANY shorting. ETRADE requires anyone shorting to sign an agreement allowing them to charge you 4% APR just to borrow the shares. So they are in danger of not meeting the requirements of delivering shares as required.

I don't think there will be a squeeze because the majority of the shorts shares are held by hedge funds who are net long. The retail shorts are covering with losses and only a few stupid short investors remain. You know who they are!

Only in most margin accounts do you have to take possession of shares you dont want lent out. However, in many, if not most cash accounts, you prob signed an agreement that says they are allowed to lend your shares even in a cash account. You have to specifically ask for and sign the agreement that disallows them from lending your shares in cash account

That is right chuck. They call their clients, recommend the stock, give them price targets etc, then issue the upgrade after they have all had the chance to buy. Now if it s sell side analyst it works a little different.

I am surprised that it has not pulled back a little Been up 5 6 trading days in a row. And a gap developed. Has to to a institutional short covering that did not get hedged high enough. The retail short covering just is not enough shares to hold it like this.

If it continues without a little pullback, then you will see short interest drop by a couple million shares.

There is nothing to look at. that gives you any valuable gap information. I use a trading platform that tracks daily volume and puts every trade into bid/ask according to price traded. It highlights a price that got moved through on lower than normal volume. This is the gap that typically needs to be filled. Not always of course but most the time. It moved through that price at a reality low volume. Unfilled limit buy orders. Remember, a very high percentage of trading on most stocks, and certainly OPK is HFT (program trading) thats how these programs analyze gaps and much more.

There is a gap to fill at $10.50 - $10.55 but with this volume it may not look back until over $1100

What brokerage do you use? I know Ameritrade will not allow shorting and ERTADE makes you sign a document agreeing to higher fees. And I received a letter from Ameritrade asking me to put my shares back in the house. I said I would at 8% They might have to do it eventually if they can't deliver on shorted sharesd.

Put you money in a 401k. You don't have what it takes to trade or pick individual stocks. You totally ignored the obvious on OPK. Take the loss and buy a 30 yr T bill. Seriously, you just don't have the tools or mindset to be a good investor. .

Taking all the shares between 10.20 and 10.35. Then the resistance will break. I personally would love to see a pull back to $10. Will be a great trade to $10.60

Just the way the ECN's work. Because each market maker has shares at almost every in the market price, every order is broken down into smaller parts, all done very rapidly and transparent to originator, so that each MM can get a piece of the action.
