Looks like you were wrong KID. UTX match the 1.62 but lower guidance. The street doesn't seem to be happy with this.

Why didn't you tell the rest of us what was going to happen? So you knew ahead of time that Verizon was going to announce a pension issue? T has already announced the pension issue so it may be factored in. Yes we all believe you picked the high for the stock: ).

What confuses me is how you jokers fall for the same old thing year after year. I would think someday you would be able to figure it out. The republicans tell you to just give all the money to the top 1% and everything will be fine. They will create more jobs and happy days will be here again. Now there is a McDonald's on every corner, we have more jobs but the economy is still a mess. Let me explain it to you. The problem we have is the golden rule. Them who have the gold have made the rules. You boyz better figured it out soon while there is still time. You ever wonder why we have such a problem with crime and these jokers going overseas to become terrorist. When you have nothing you have nothing to loose. That is the result of giving all the money to the top 1%. You think about that when you cast your vote for some joker who tells you to give the money to the top 1%. You could be the person in a shopping center when someone with nothing to loose decides to go on a shooting spree .

You would do good to go back to school and take spelling lessons. Talk about someone being dumber than a door nob.

Apparently the market liked it. The stock closed up despite all the clowns saying we were going down.

All the ignorant people that were looking for a big hit were wrong. T will probably end the day up. These people who were trashing the stock were just showing their stupidity. Obviously they know nothing so best to ignore them. All boards have stupid people like them.

Anyone have a guess as to what the earnings will be on the 27th? Believe they said they will miss by 6 cents. This first time I can remember of UTX missing their earnings. The stock price doesn't look to have factored this in and what if the miss is more. What kind of guidance do you think they will give?. The cost cutting they are talking about may not be enough to keep the stock price up. I know they want to blame everything on Louie but think there could be other factors at work. Anyone consider the effect the Euro is having on the earnings. When UTX converts it's Euros to Dollars their numbers go down. Europe getting ready to start devalue its currency which will not be good for the multinationals doing business there. The fed says it is getting ready to raise interest rates which will give us a stronger dollar. All these currency adjustments could have a big effect on UTX's earnings. Not looking for anything good to happen with earnings. Might be best to go to the fix income fund until after earnings. What do you think KID? Are you expecting good numbers from UTX?

Are you getting out? What is your purpose here? You just want to help us out by giving us your wisdom? Think I will hold mind because you are wrong. Don't know where you get the 26 number but it is stupid. Not going to happen. What kind of person enjoys watching others loose their money. Your very sick.

    New CEO

You are looking at the wrong place. It's the economy that is going to matter. That is what will guide UTX. Look at the screwed up interest rates and what is going to happen if the FED decides to raise them. The FED has the markets really screwed up and what they do from here is going to determine UTX and all the other stocks. Just because they got rid of Louie means nothing. The rest of the team is still there. Nothing has changed.

Glad you did so well. Hope someday you can live on the 3.5% the income fund pays. It is a lot nicer not to worry about what the market does. My problem now is how to get it out without paying anymore taxes than I have to. This will really be a problem in 3 years when I am forced to take mandatory distributions.

  • want2bik by want2bik Jan 6, 2015 4:09 PM Flag

You buy a lot today. Remember how it felt when UTX went from $88 to $43? UTX is not a good place to be. They have change their CEO and we have to see how this plays out. Europe is a disaster which is not a good thing for UTX. They have already told us they will miss the earnings. When this reality is presented to the investors during the earnings season could be a bad thing. Wouldn't want to be holding UTX when the numbers come out. They will put the blame on the old CEO but not sure the investors will want to hear that? Do your self a favor and get into the stable value fund. Better to make 3.5% than to lose money. Yes I made money today in the stable value fund. When the market goes down I make money and when the market goes up I make money. What's not to like?

Everyone who has followed your advise is losing money. Don't you feel bad about that?

You need some serious help before you loose all your money. I told you to get out when the stock was $10. You chose to ride it down. The stock is going much lower. If you do not get out now you will loose more money. Your choice.

    T vs CTL

I had bought some CTL at $34 and $32. I got the stock called at $40. Do not like the way the company did it's investors by lowering the dividend. Shows me they care very little for their investors. If they ever do that again think I will be a buy some. Fidelity had both stocks rated at bullish. Right now think T is a better buy. They have just raised their dividend and think the direct tv deal may be a good thing.

Maybe you could tell us how you come up with your numbers. When I go to the 401k plan information it tell me UTX was up 3.11%. UTX is paying $2.36 for a dividend so if you divide by $114 that gives a 2.07% dividend. If you count the dividend that would give 5.18%. Where do you get the 6.6%? Sounds to me like the time you figured you could get your distribution for your 401k plan and not have taxes withheld. You rode UTX down the last time it went to $43 and you will most likely ride it down again. I have made it pretty clear how I play the market. I am a market timer and have told you many times how I make my money.

    want2bik want2bik Jan 2, 2015 10:19 AM Flag

Hope is not a good investment plan. You are assuming that Chenervert was the only problem UTX has. UTX performance for 2014 was pretty bad compared to the rest of the market. They were up 3.11% for the year while the income fund was up 3.37% for the year. What change in management will do is yet to be seen. Hayes has been with the company for a while so not sure he is going to bring anything new to the table. Problems in Europe are not going away so think UTX is going to continue to have problems. Most of UTX business is done oversea. UTX needs strong oversea markets to do good. This bull has been going for almost 6 years. That's a long time for a bull. Remember how you felt when UTX went from $86 to $43? It has been a nice 6 year run on the stock. Do yourself a favor and get in the income fund. We are getting 3.5%.

Your some kind of loser. Trying to get others into this pig. The direction is down now and after the split it will keep going lower. There is no value here.
