If you are not in this thing for the dividend ?

Looking for growth and dividend too, how's this look ?

IEP ............. TTM $6.25 ,estimated earnings this year $9.41 ,estimated earnings next year $13.34 ,paying out just under 6% now and more than likely to grow.

However, if this is more than you want to spend .Or just looking for a dividend . You may want to look these over. They all pay out over 5%

T, FUN, ARLP, BPL, MIC, KMP, CMLP, SPH, NS, CLMT, NAT, ALDW and AROW also pays out about 6% if you count the 2% stock split every year .

Well best of luck to you and don't put all your eggs in one basket

    Nothing updated but......................

STAR estimated earnings this year is -1.66 , estimated earnings next year is 0.84 cents . So by the estimated earnings next year ,I would think STAR

would have to start paying out again in 2015 .

Some others to look over They all pay out over 5%

    .

IEP ............. TTM $6.25 ,estimated earnings this year $9.41 ,estimated earnings next year $13.34 ,paying out just under 6%.

T, FUN, ARLP, BPL, MIC, KMP, CMLP, SPH, NS, CLMT, NAT, ALDW and AROW also pays out about 6% if you count the 2% stock split every year .

Oh, and UVE paying out only about 3% .Buy they have been growing and going into other states .

Well best of luck to you and don't put all your eggs in one basket .

Part 2 and thank you Obama .
Apple depended on China for about 16 percent of its $37.4 billion in revenue last quarter, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. IPad sales in the world's biggest market increased by 51 percent and Mac sales by 39 percent, Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said July 23.

The heightened scrutiny of foreign companies follows Edward Snowden's revelations last year of a National Security Agency spying program and the May announcement of indictments by U.S. prosecutors of five Chinese military officers for allegedly stealing corporate secrets.

Kristin Huguet, a spokeswoman for Apple, declined to comment. The Ministry of Finance and NDRC didn't immediately respond to faxes seeking comments about the procurement list, which doesn't include smartphones.

The register applies to all central Communist Party departments, government ministries and all local governments, according to the officials. The next review for the list will be in January, the people said. Products from Dell, Hewlett- Packard and Chinese maker Lenovo Group were included on both lists, the officials said.

China said in May it would vet technology companies operating in the country for potential national-security breaches after the government threatened retaliation for the U.S. indictment of the Chinese officers.

The exclusions may add pressure to U.S.-China relations, which are strained by Chinese territorial disputes with U.S. allies such as Japan and the Philippines as well as economic competition around the world.

Microsoft said in May it was "surprised" to learn that its Windows 8 operating system was excluded from government purchases. The official Xinhua News Agency called it "a move to ensure computer security."

China regulators opened an anti-monopoly investigation into Microsoft in July, seizing computers and documents from offices in four cities.

Microsoft, Google, Facebook and Apple have been criticized by state media for allegedly cooperating with a U.S. spying program, and Qualcomm in November disclosed an investigation related to anti-monopoly law.

Last month, state-run China Central Television reported that features of Apple's iPhone software may result in the leak of state secrets. Apple rejected those claims.

I think IEP will be going up on and after Aug,5 . But , if you're looking for some other stocks to look over . Do some homework on these ,paying 3% or better. Their estimated earnings are all heading up .Nothing like IEP's

Their dividend history is looking good, for the most part .

I only buy and hold dividend paying stocks.

    CLMT .......8.80%

    FUN..........5.30% looks like FUN again

    KMP..........6.90%

    MIC...........6.20% Looks to be back

    NS.............7.50% Holding steady

AROW.......3.90% plus a 2% stock split every year. Hope it keeps it up.

ARLP..........Just split and has a nice dividend history.

Well best of luck to you.

  • Recent dividend payment

In July, the NAT Board of Directors declared a dividend of $0.12 per common share to shareholders as of record July 25, 2014, scheduled for payment on or about August 12, 2014.

Meanwhile, as earlier notified, NAT shareholders who have NAT shares above certain threshold—at least 500 common shares—will be awarded dividend-in-kind shares in Nordic American Offshore (or NAO). The record date for the distribution of these shares is July 25, 2014. It’s expected to be effective as of August 11, 2014. Based on current calculation on NAO latest stock closing price and its common share dividend of $0.13 per share, value of the dividend-in-kind stands at $0.17 per share.

I also have AROW and I'm very happy with it. However, I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket ,banks . I would diversify my holdings with stocks like T,ARLP,KMP, they also raise their dividends . Also, FUN and MIC look to be back on track now. IEP is a new holding for me............. TTM $6.25 ,estimated earnings this year $9.41 ,estimated earnings next year $13.34 ...Paying out over 5% now and more than likely to grow ,both in price and dividends . I had to sell another stock, so I could buy IEP . The estimated earnings looked to good to be true. But I'm in.

I own all of them . I rode FUN and MIC down from the top and back up again. I only buy dividend or distribution paying stocks Buy and hold . Works for me.

Back in the 1990's Obama Sued Citibank Under CRA to Force it to Make Bad Loans

Lost my #$%$ with C and BAC . Those dividends will never return to the way they were . C did a 1 for 10 split.

Well best of luck to all.

ACAS used to pay a nice dividend back in the day . Looks like we may see it again . Earnings TTM -0.32 ,estimated earnings this year 0.69 ,estimated earnings next year 0.92

Anybody think we will see one by the end of the year ? Or next year ?

  • wareham2620 by wareham2620 Jul 17, 2014 11:20 AM Flag

I'm in for 96 shares @ $102.70. So the price should be going back down now.
    Good luck to all

Stock market way up today and UVE ....

I really don't do as much homework on my stocks as I should. But I like to see earnings going up . Also , UVE has been growing into other states .

Last years earnings was $1.66 per share ,estimated earnings this year is $1.68 ,estimated earnings next year $2.01 ,paying out 3% now and more than likely to grow with the earnings .

I got in at $5.59 and $5.63 .They have grown since then .My guess is they want to do the buy back before any raise in the dividend and stock price .

I also like AROW they pay out about 4% cash dividend and raise it every year. Also, a 2% stock split every year. They have done a stock split for years now . But that could stop sooner or later. It used to be larger.

I like stocks that raise their dividend . Another one I like is FUN.

Well best of luck to you .

What's not to like ? If I had any money to invest at this time ,I would be a buyer here .However, if this is more than you want to spend .Or looking for a more steady dividend history . You may want to look at these. They all pay out over 5%

T, FUN, ARLP, BPL, MIC, KMP, CMLP, SPH, NS, CLMT, NAT, ALDW and AROW also pays out about 6% if you count the 2% stock split every year .

BEIJING — China’s influential state broadcaster called a location-tracking function of Apple Inc.’s iPhone a “national security concern” on Friday, in the latest backlash against U.S. technology firms.

In its national noon broadcast, state-run China Central Television criticized the “frequent locations” function in Apple’s AAPL +0.11% iO7 mobile operating system, which tracks and records the time and location of the owner’s movements. The report quoted researchers who said that those with access to those data points could gain knowledge of the broader situation in China or “even state secrets.”

U.S. technology companies have felt a chill in China since last year, when former U.S. contractor Edward Snowden alleged the National Security Agency was spying on Chinese leaders and that U.S. tech firms were providing data to the government.

Here are some to look over. They all pay out over 5% and it looks like their EPS estimates are heading up .I also have BMY and BP and the ones listed below. Oh, BPL was on my watch list so I don't have that one .T, FUN, ARLP, BPL, MIC, KMP, CMLP, SPH, NS, CLMT, NAT, ALDW .The rest that I have pay under 5% . So I didn't list them.

Well, best of luck to you.

#$%$ Cheney Says Obama Cuts Defense to Spend on Food Stamps

Former Vice President #$%$ Cheney says the Obama administration is cutting defense to spend money on food stamps. He made the remark Thursday night at an energy industry trade show in Billings, Montana, as part of a critique of President Barack Obama’s plans to withdraw American forces from Afghanistan in 2016.

Cheney said: “When I was secretary, we had basically a two-war strategy. We had to maintain sufficient forces to be able to fight two wars at once. He switched that. Now we’re going to have a one-war strategy. And that’s all being done as a rationale to justify further deep cuts in the defense budget so he can allocate that money to food stamps or whatever else he wants to spend it on.”

Last year STAR lost -1.66 a share. This year they are estimated to make 0.84 a share . Therefore , STAR looks to be on their way back to me .With any profit the dividend will be returning and the stock price will be going back up. I lost my #$%$ on SFI and NFI years ago . I rode NFI down to nothing and SFI on into STAR .However, now any time I hold a REIT and they reduce their dividend I'm out . REITs are here today and gone tomorrow.

Well best of luck to you.

Sounds like DSX in 2008 and I'm still looking for the dividend to return. However, I think we may see DSX return the dividend in 2015 or 2016. As they return to making a profit.

DCIX "After carefully considering the current containership charter market and vessel acquisition opportunities, management believes the board's decision to reduce the cash dividend payable with respect to the first quarter is in the best interests of the Company and its shareholders and is consistent with the long-term strategy of maintaining a strong balance sheet and pursuing attractive vessel purchase opportunities as they arise," the company said in a statement.

    Reinstate the dividend

    by edsmoe Jun 10, 2014 11:40 AM
    wareham2620 wareham2620 Jun 12, 2014 11:42 PM Flag

I bought DSX years ago @ $19.38 and never sold it. Why ? Because I believe DSX and their dividend will be bigger and even better than they were before .

At the end of 2008 DSX stopped the dividend in order to grow it's fleet . Including the newly-delivered “Norfolk”, the Diana Shipping Inc. fleet consisted of 19 dry bulk carriers (13 Panamax and 6 Capesize)

Today DSX fleet ,Including the newly delivered m/v “Atalandi”, Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 38 dry bulk vessels (2 Newcastlemax, 10 Capesize, 3 Post-Panamax, 3 Kamsarmax and 20 Panamax). The Company also expects to take delivery of 2 new-building Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels and one Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel during the second quarter of 2016.

DSX last year EPS lost -0.30 a share

ESP EST Current year a lost of - 0.24

EPS EST NEXT YEAR a profit of .50 a share

Nothing is for sure. But DSX looks like they may be turning back around now . When they do turn back to seeing a profit ,I think our dividend will return bigger and better than before. Yes, the wait was longer than I thought it would be. But I'm still here. Now, if you don't think the same as I do. Why are you still here ? Sell DSX and invest your money some place else .

    Best of luck to you.
