Samsung has dumped the overheating QCOM chips. The stock has bounced pretty good since then and is topping again. Is it time to get out or short this stock? I'm targeting the high 50s.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
The new iPhone is too expensive for what you get. At nearly 1,000/usd its a ripoff. People are waking up to its lack of value and its market share is dropping in the USA. It might plummet this summer and fall! Meanwhile the CEO is busy working on useless watches, autos, and gay rights. Really?
Is it time to get out? Some say with the S6 launch Apple will not gain market share and in fact lose out this summer/fall and into the XMAS season. Most analysis I have read say the S6 is a better smartphone and Apple is now behind. Tim Cook is focusing on gay rights rather than market share? Not good. If the smartwatch fails to fire LOOK OUT BELOW and look for a new CEO.
Makes sense. When its over its over. Dump the semiconductor division and go royalty only. Increase stock buy backs and dividends. Mass layoffs to reduce overhead?
Makes sense to bust this aging tech firm up into it component parts and sell it off. Leave the ownership of the valuable patents in a central QCOM core and rebuild from scratch.
Bust up QCOM! Sell/spin off all the units but keep the patents (royalty streams) and a core unit called QCOM. Its time to reinvent this aging company and start over. Creative deconstruction.
Aging and falling apart. The tenants are moving out. It needs to be razed and rebuilt with a modern design. The stadium is a harbinger. Its time to bust up the QCOM corporation too. Sell off everything for cash/money orders and keep valuable patent revenue streams for cash flow. Its time to rebuild. Creative destruction.
