along the lines of electric cars, smart phones, fire, the wheel, etc.
In a few years a large percentage of the planet will be using e-cigs. Lorillard will make a pile of money off of them and revenues, profits, and dividends will continue to grow.
This is a GREAT investment.
This could be weeks or even months away. There could be some significant volatility between now and then. One day it could like a deal is imminent and the next it could look like it has no chance of happening - only to see it revive again a week later. If a deal happens then this stock could trade all over the place between now and the time it happens. Look at what Dell just went through. It took months to resolve.
Options are paying a premium all of a sudden - even options like the March 60s. Given that, if something is up it doesn't look like it will be long before we find out about it.
It's just a presentation but it looks like positive news for longs - including on the regulation front
Really don't give a #$%$ if some analysts over-stated the situation ahead of time so they could negatively manipulate the stock for the fools who play the market for the short term trades.
The story here is the same as always - higher revenues, higher profits, higher dividend, less shares on the market - same as always. The only additional story here is electronic cigarettes will eventually speed things up some.
You will see tons of corporations cutting their workforces to offset the increased health insurance costs caused by Obamacare. I realize every liberal on the planet may deny this but there will be no denying the disappearing jobs. With any luck the idiots who deny the reality of the situation will be the ones who are laid off. This is just the beginning.
There is so much interesting information available concerning the stock market and CNBC fails miserably on a daily basis in delivering that information. Cramer is on all day every day and is constantly screaming and slobbering all over the place while passing along no useful information. He is the ultimate lemming in that if a stock is going up then he screams it is a buy and if it goes down he screams it is a sell. Turn it off and check back in a few hours later and he is still on. The evening trade show is worse than Cramer. At one time this was an entertaining channel with useful information but not anymore.
Can somebody PLEASE launch a competing channel? It would not take much to take over this sector of the market given the light competition.
That alone should be enough motivation to get a rally going here.
Agree with some other posters - just manipulation due to options expiration.
Hmmmm….which one should I put more faith in?
