No, it is every quarter in their quarterly report... it is just that the report you cite is the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter ended on 12/31, but we get the report with the annual letter...:)

The 9/30/2013 number is our most recent one available... which has A shares at the 126,766, and B shares at 84.51 roughly. The next report comes out at the end of this month or first of next month (likely the last Friday night/early Saturday morning of February... which will be Mr. Buffett's letter).

Well put, my friend...:) For those that are long term investors, this company is a compounding machine... continuing to use existing earnings streams to create new ones, and strengthen existing ones.

There is some risk... I believe the current book value of BRKB (at last report) was 85.. which would make the 1.2 of book be 102. In addition, Mr. Buffett has given fair warning that they would not use the share repurchase plan to prop up the price or guarantee a floor... the purpose would be to retire shares (thus effectively increasing the value of each share over time). If Mr. Market will push the price even lower, then the rational use of shareholder money is to let it go lower and buy even more shares for the same dollars.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

Just a quick clarification: Mr. Buffett has warned repeatedly that it would be unwise to consider the share repurchase program as a price support... they make no guarantee that they will automatically buy at any set price. 1.2 of book value is the maximum price... if they believe the market will push it down further, they will let it fall further and buy it at an even better price.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy
