Hello Everybody, long ..thattime....
Sooooooo, how are things looking for the acne market. Is it time once again to play long ball with DUSA? Has Schulmann been fired yet...that would be a good sign?
Any sign of ajiuo?
Based on the upside potential of gold over the next 6-24 months, the gross over sold condition of the stock based primarily on short term problems that will correct rather quickly and the total Bearish sentiment on this board, I'm switching some of my GFI, NEM and IAG holdings into PDG.
A little good news, SS did $570,000 and change over the weekend.
I'd like to see Ultimate X pick up. It looks like parents are happy to take their toddlers to Beauty and the Beast, but are passing on taking their thirteen year-olds to an X sports movie.
Thanks....They may or may not have a new line based on that discussion. As you know, the disclaimer at the end is standard, required jargon.
There is no question that their cash flow and debt is a major concern. That said, if they had little debt, the stock would be in the mid to high teens (IMHO). The problem is discounted in the price. The issue is whether or not IMAX can successfully diversify out of the educational segment into the mass commercial segment. You're betting they won't. You may be right. I'm betting they will.
Anyway, thanks for the post.
I am not a technical analyst. However, simply to demonstrate Rob's game, here is another technical analysis on IMAX from another site that predicts the opposite of what Rob posted.
I don't know the short term for IMAX (1-2 month), but I do believe that it will be significantly higher by Christmas.
I don't know why Mr. Abraham bemoans all of these CEO scams....he is cut from the same cloth.
Gee....a month ago IMAX was the greatest investment opportunity since Microsoft. A no brainer...all because of events that are happening in the future. Now....it is horrible, awful SELL SELL SELL SELL. We are all waiting for the honest, objective 'chartered accountant' report. I wonder what that will tell us. Of course, you claimed to be the worlds foremost expert on IMAX so why would you need this objective analysis?
People like you make me sick.
Barg.. is right. DMR is key and it is not proven. I believe it will transform Large Format...if it doesn't Imax will survive, but will lost most of its upside. That's investing folks.
For those of you that are new, watch out for Rob Abraham. He is the proverbial wolf in sheeps clothing and is currently about to proclaim that his 'chartered accountant' has found out baaaaaad stuff on IMAX. This is strange since he has claimed to be an expert on the company for months. He represents all that is wrong with Wall Street today. He wants to advance himself and has no concern for who he hurts. It's some kind of sad, sick perverted game.
There are many on this board that give their honest opinions, right or wrong....barofys, catruck, allapain, M-Ho, even Lacipyta and TRF for contrary viewpoints.
We are in between major events at IMAX. The surge created from the Apollo 13 news and the successful SS launch is over. Another surge will begin when Apollo 13 is launched followed by a slew of fall movies and an announcement about a major action film release (in my opinion...the Ron Howard Alamo film). IMAX has been sucked down by the crisis in confidence about corporate America.
A better entry price may be available in July and August, but I'd rather catch the stock now and ride out volatility. I'm pursuing the same strategy with my other holdings.
I like the news coming out of Reuters:
1. Expect at least 23 new IMAX theatres to be built in China alone in the next 5 years.
2. Expect an announcement by the end of the year of a simultaneous IMAX and 35mm theatre release of a major Hollywood action film.
Excellent numbers on Space Station...again.
I'm surprised by the relatively poor showing of Ultimate X. All of the other IMAX films have better per screen averages.
We may go lower than here. Imax may drop to $5.00. However, unless we have another 9-11, we are nearing the bottom and economic conditions are improving. If the market does not reverse given extant indicators and Fed policy, it will be a first....
Nasdaq 1,850 -- 2,000
Dow 10,400 -- 10,700
Disclaimer: I'm a Cub fan
Of course, they have already taken an unbelievable beating. They may take more, but usually the time to get in is when every one else believes you're a moron to do so. Then again, I may just be a moron. Ignorance is bliss they say.
Anyway, my IMAX position is the largest single stock position I've taken in years. Of course, I get nervous about it...but I do believe they are about to benefit from an 'awakening' in L.A. about the potential of merging the most dramatic software with the most dramatic hardware.
