Have not trade(sold any FNMA or Fmcc stock yet. Hindsight is20/20....if I know this run up would happen, why would I even want to bother to load up before this week run up....I would have Max out all my credit/loan and load up back when it was trading in the $0.20s....
Why would holding these 2 stock is a bad idea?

  • Started buying FNMA and FMCC last year(March) and around $0.85 and have added more a few times (as high as $4.xx on last year huge pump and dump day, Sigh(mistake #1)...And because of that day, I was too nervous to add more and as a result ended up with less shares of FNMA and FMCC That I would hope for and felt comfortable with.(Mistake #2)

So, I would like to add more position, so should I go all in next week or Dollar cost average this over the next few weeks/month. Using discount brokers, so commission is not an issue.

WOuld like to hear from other here that were in my position before and what they did and if they were to do it again, would they have done the same/different?

Good thing abt my current FNMA and FMCC is that abt. 80% of them are in ROTH IRA acct.... NO Capital gain tax!!

    Good Luck to all!

Wow, 100% of your investment $$$ are in FNMA..... how can you sleep at night on down I have less than 1% and I am worried (actually more worried on up days, ESP. Huge % jump like the last few days)

I guess I more worried abt missing the boat when the big jump happen then losing that measly 1%.......

Just could not see myself investing anything over 20% of my investment money on FNMA and fmccc......

Thanks all for your answer and opinions... I thinking of keeping my FNMA and fmcc shares long term...they are in IRA acct. I do believe they are very good, favorable bet long term....still undecided to trade them short term outside retirement acct. If I do, I think I will trade them in reg. (Non Ira acct) because this is one stock where you can lose 100% overnight, so therefore, would at least like to get some capital lost claim come tax time worst case scenario.....

I last thing I want is to make the mistake I made in 2008-9. Just short term traded F, C, Aig, ..etc but did not keep any position for long term......duh!

Think I will let my FB ride for as long as the momentum still going strong..... I think the wild card there is instragram....

    Will look up nbg..

  • first time poster to this board here...Been reading this board the last few months.
Got into FNMA and FMCC a few month ago weeks before the last huge runup a few months ago....
Still hold both and are thinking of adding more.,....
    a few questions:
    1) Is FMCC a better buy as it alway trade at 0.10 less.
    2) Is FB a better investment than FNMA and FMCC?
    3) Should I trade these stock short term with half my position and hold half long term? orbett5er off 100% long term5?
    4) what abt Fannie and freddie's preferred share? are they better investment(safer)?

    5) lastly, just curious, how many percent of your investment are money are in these two stock?

Good luck to All..longs and shorts!
