I remember. Rintega would probably be on the market right now if PFE hadn't withdrawn from its partnership with CLDX. Once Rintega receives approval, though, CLDX will be in a much better position for owning 100% of Rintega. AM wouldn't sell to PFE unless PFE overpaid. The article shows, however, that the big pharmas are desperately in search of the next big thing to solidify their earnings for the next two to three decades. CLDX is, in my opinion, one of the most valuable players in cancer immunotherapy; every big pharma has got to have CLDX on its short list of attractive acquisition candidates.

  • Pfizer Inc. Chief Executive Officer Ian Read said he’s on the hunt for an acquisition to build up the company’s collection of innovative drugs, five months after agreeing to a $17 billion deal to bolster the unit that sells older products.

Read the rest of the article on Bloomberg. Yahoo also has a link to the story.

    My own comments:
    1. Biotech acquisitions will reach a fever pitch over the next two years.
    2. Immunotherapy is the hottest biotech sector for aggressive growth over that same period.
    3. Every major pharma is scouting out which small companies are likely to generate the next blockbusters.
    4. Celldex's treatments are poised to become highly valuable.
    5. Every big pharma will want to own Varli, not to mention the others.
    6. The Bloomberg article and the growing interest in biotech acquisitions of late are the tip of the iceberg.
    7. Celldex shareholders who hold and are patient will be amply rewarded.

It's been unusually quiet, flog. The only "sign" that's been given has been the creation of the new Chief Commercial Officer position on the executive management team. In hindsight that will have been the tell. Of course, some of us can already read Marucci's signs. Of course, you don't create a position like that if Rintega is going to fail to get accelerated approval. Something big is coming, and it will come like a bolt out of the blue for those who haven't been paying attention, such as the 16 million shorts.

  • No: Planned Parenthood did.

Yet the Left has a hissy fit about the flag. Black agitators rail against the flag.

Priorities and perspective are two things the Left has skewed.

In a Facebook status update, Palin posted a picture of the Confederate flag next to the Planned Parenthood logo, then asked, “Which symbol killed 90,000 black babies last year? #Defund Planned Parenthood.” By Monday, the post had garnered almost 111,000 likes and 59,000 shares.

  • The August CC will be one of the most important ever.

  • This one even more macabre than the prior two. PP is pure evil, and yes they have been selling fetal tissue for money. They videos prove it.

    Defund PP now!

God bless the courageous and clever people who have exposed PP's evil profiteering off of murder and criminality.

An institution also doesn't just decide to increase a holding in a single stock, much less a speculative biotech stock in a recent period of biotech sector weakness (with Grexit threatening to destabilize markets), by 280% to the tune of about $50M on a whim. Not only do they have analysts, they have sources and methods for obtaining anecdotal information by talking to doctors, patients and employees about what is really going on with the company. I bet NASDAQ will show CLDX institutional ownership at over 92% by the time all institutions have reported come August 14; it currently stands at just under 90%.

Agree, J20. That's an enormous increase over their initial investment in the company.

Institutions know CLDX is going to be the biotech success story of the decade, and they have been suppressing the share price to accumulate as many shares as they can before management begins releasing hit after hit after hit.

CLDX is going to be the Pixar of biotech.

I'm surprised to hear that mbb puts anybody on ignore. It knows that I have had it on ignore for probably over a year now, yet it still replies to my messages and red-thumbs my posts.

Don't be hurt; feel privileged. I wish mbb would ignore everyone or -- better -- leave. His posts are greyed-out, so I don't read them, but still they take up space on the screen. Same with bloris.

Amazing how such accumulation can be managed during such a low-volume period without causing the share price to rise. Of course, that's the whole point of their accumulation games and manipulation.

  • Reporting as of 6/30/15, FRONTIER CAPITAL MANAGEMENT CO LLC now owns 2,495,832 shares of CLDX, which is an increase during the second quarter of 1,839,298 shares for a 280% increase in shares owned.

Obama plays "catch me if you can", and the RINOs in Congress don't even try to catch him. The American system of government is broken like Humpty Dumpty. Our elected leaders no longer adhere to the Constitution; it truly has become Ameritopia.

Soon, you are a moron. Communism, an atheistic philosophy, has caused more deaths than the sinful misuse of any religious creed; read twentieth-century history. Give up your leftist claptrap and think for once. Do you see how violent self-righteous leftist protesters are in this country? Those are not religious people. Something like over 60 million babies killed by abortion in this country: all because of the atheistic leftist and anti-science philosophy that considers babies to be merely tissue. The atheistic left is far, far more destructive and violent and deadly to innocent human beings than any religion. Get real.

By the way, where's your "one hell of a close" now? Idiot.

Is the blender's lid on? Is there anything else in the blender? Is a normal-sized human being filling the blender with ingredients? Does it appear that the blade is about to be turned on?

Assuming the blender is empty, otherwise I could climb and crawl out, I would attempt to rock the blender back and forth until it tipped over, then I would push off the lid and crawl out.

Frank, not all religions are equal. There is only one true, complete, revealed religion, which is Christianity (and I further maintain that Catholicism is the fullest and divinely willed historical expression of Christianity in continuity with its origins in Jesus Christ). Judaism is true and revealed but incomplete religion, for the old covenant has been supplanted by the new covenant. All other religions are inventions of man; there is nothing revealed by God in them, for they have no divinely inspired Scripture nor divinely inspired spokesmen.

Islam, being an invention of man and not of God, will mislead because sinful man cannot attain sufficiently to divine truths without assistance from God. There may be some good teachings in it, but if so they come from man and not from God. Any good in any other religion can be found more eminently in Catholicism. To anticipate the naysayers: that is not to say that all Catholics are sinless nor that the Catholic Church's institutions perfectly accord with the ideal of Catholic Faith; it is to say that the revelation from God expressed in Catholic doctrine and Tradition offers the fullness of what will lead to understanding God and man's nature, his purpose, his morality, his salvation and his destiny because God has promised that he would preserve the Catholic Church from formally teaching grave error as dogma.

It's not PC to say that all religions are not equal and that one religion is superior to all the rest; nevertheless, it's the truth. Furthermore, the more the United States rejects its Judeo-Christian heritage (as with SSM, most recently), the more it will devolve because it is turning away from "the Light from above". God bless America, land that I love. Stand beside her, and guide her through the night with the Light from above.

I am especially intrigued by your note that there *will be* a CC in August. We long-timers know that quarterly earnings CCs are *only* held when there is something important for management to present. The earnings CC has become one of Marucci's tells that there is a positive development. When there is no important development, the earnings are merely released with a PR but no CC.

Furthermore, anyone not already familiar with the science behind the Varli/PD-1 blockade combo trials should read Celldex's press release from April 20 tltled, "Celldex's Varlilumab Demonstrates Synergistic Anti-Tumor Activity with PD-1 Signaling Blockade in Preclinical Studies".

The PR on Celldex's website has a link to the poster presented at the conference, and the graphs showing the effectiveness of Varli in combination with PD-L1 blockade will blow you away.

If the pre-clinical results are duplicated in clinical trials, Varli is darn near to a cure. Since cancer cells, Varli and PD-1 inhbitors don't know whether they are in a human body or not, the biological mechanism of action that has been proven in the preclinical studies ought to also work in human patients.

Put simply, anyone familiar with these results and the potential market value of Varli to Celldex and to any potential acquiring company would have to be crazy not to jump at the chance to purchase as many shares of CLDX as he can at these suppressed prices.
