maybe but they will post big operating losses too in each quarter also and after so many bad years in a rpw, quarts in the red,Im not sure they can get away with Johnson&Rice raising them another 50million in cash each Q going forward theres gonna be some real pressure along with the pain

I agree, what concerns me is that it is not a one-off,they have never operated profitably, either as the former companies vog&eo or the merged concern
Curious to me that this morning the stock opened 10% higher than the close, only to immediately trade down to and through the previous days price, there was no news,so why would someone come out firing bidding 10% higher at the open? an attempt to prop up the bidding maybe? just seems odd smeone wanted a couple hundred shares that much right away when they can have all they want at 87 cents

think about it....How Much will they lose this year? its a profesionally managed and well orchestrated money pit that is in the business of developing and adding oil reserves at a 50% premium to their actual value in other words, you give them a dollar and they will(after taking the necessary fees and expenses for their services) manufacture 50 cents worth of oil and gas reserves as Don King says "only in America baby"

  • wifewantz1stladyluv by wifewantz1stladyluv Mar 24, 2015 11:38 AM Flag

nor for its investors, banks or bondholders ....As long as it doesn't matter to them whether or not the co. turns a profit then the co. and its extremely high general and administrative costs(salaries, bonus, stock awards, etc.) can just keep on truckin

But the Iranian oil coming back onto the market soon won't help much, might be the straw that breaks the back of sickly EOX as they scramble to claw back market share in the coming year....

it if comes back to the 60s how much money will they still lose? I mean they lost 52 million at a hedged price of 90$ last yr,if it stays in the 40s can this co. afford to lose another 100 million$+ for 2015 after all the years of losses previously???? I can't imagine they can-wishfull thinking on the part of management that they can keep their personal piggybank and gravy train running that long White Deer likely has a fine writeoff in the making to offset any gains they might have elsewhere, but they deserve what they get in my opinion after allowing the compensation/g&a excess to go on unabated

    positive because??? they only lost 52 million for the year? why would their losses for the quarter and for the year cause a "bounce" in the stock price? just curious, Lord you do the the world in the most positive of terms....You do realize the next quarter and year will be worse right? You are aware what has happened to prices and world markets since the first of the year correct? Maybe the price of eox will rebound as investors come to believe that in 2 maybe 3 years they might have a profitable quarter,BUT remember there will be many years of losses,in additiion to all the years of losses so far,as well as full compensation and salaries and stock awards for the boys all along the way,we are not suspending that,losing this kind of money is hard work and deserves hearty compensation;
so once they turn the corner to profits as you suspect they will have a mountain of debt and red ink to climb before they and You get even a whiff of the sweet air of a profitable concern and business model.
Good luck to you,I admire your boundless optimism but you will need to part the red sea here before you get your "bounce in stock price tomorrow"

    Sentiment: Strong Sell

its an excellent report,as they only lost 52 million(net loss), and while that represents a 500% increase in their net loss yr on yr its not as bad as I thought it would be. Having only lost shareholders 78cents per share for 2014 along with a net decrease in cash of 131 million sounds like a bottle of champagne is in order, cheers!

this will probably be the last good report ever for this co. as they will only lose a little money now instead of a whole lot like in the next quarter so time to load up and let the good times roll in my opinion

    Sentiment: Sell

the major writedowns for drillers will occur in 2016 based on the current rules but for evaluation of reserves by investors I use the current numbers to derive the value of the co. presently not what the stupid sec rules allow them to use to fleece the public

if you read more you would know that the SEC is changing the rules and that is what Bloomberg and others have been writing about,Drilling companies will no longer be able to use the 12 mo. rule and the $95 price but instead the average of the price for the first trading day of the 3 previous months for thae upcoming quarter You are either illiterate or just a casual retail investor or you are intentionally misinforming people here as nothing more than a seedy pumper

Bloomberg Asjylyn Loder's article on the coming reserve price writedown for bakken drillers
and of course it makes sense, despite your mysoginistic statements about investment advice from women and doctors, believe it or not some women manage money and investments and we can read If you do not believe that the average price of crude was $51.28 on the first trading days of the first three months of this year you can easily look it up by googling the data yourself

You are wrong,I got my numbers from Bloomberg, specifically Asjylyn Loder's article about writedowns(aloder@Bloomberg.net) and I quote " the average price on the first trading days of January and February and March for 2015 was US$51.28 per barrel.....writedowns are in store when drillers first quarter numbers are announced in April & May" So engage in all the character assassination you want in your desperate search for good and contrarian news on this doomed stock, but your rose coloured glasses won't get you far in the loing run in my humble opinion!

all the other companies will have to use $51 as that is the average of the first three days of the first three months of this year for the bakken, not sure eox gets to use a different set of numbers as you suggest-all the articles yeatserday about this topic confirmed the price as 51 dollars not 85,not sure where you are getting that number from

this appears to not be true and he is either misinformed or else an unclever pumper, he seems to be referring to the transaction eox did with Liberty-Riverstone previously where they traded Williams county acreage for some poor wells in mkenzie co that Liberty wanted to shed, those wells added about 330 bopd to eox but in my opinion didnt add much value-THe real issue here to discuss is what effect the writedown on the value of Emerald's reserves coming in March will have once you figure $50 oilprice into the equation, that should obliterate their borrowing base to zero Lets see 'live-bait' pump that!

before you do look at how the co. has performed over last 10 years, especially when oil prices were high it was losing loads of money, its not a good play on oil period, take a look at NOG which makes alot of money even in this price environment, but eox is a black hole moneypit to be wary of-they flat out dont turn a profit at any oilprice ever, while the managers reward themselves with your money for each losing quarter, and will continue to do so until the markets finally end the party
