    Valuation of EXEL post METEOR

"...only about a third of mRCC have bone mets..."
My intention was not to overplay the bone phenom, simply to underscore its significance in differentiating Cabo from the field. There are still so many possibilities to consider in a changing treatment scheme - and my example is this: there is sound clinical rationale for combining Cabo and everolimus. I expect to see a trial combining these two initiated sometime in the near future - or, Cabo with whichever PI3k/ mTOR axis modulator best suits the rationale. Commercial differentiation is key, and even cobimetinib is not immune. Keep in mind, there are already some 14 MEKi INDs in clinical process. I consider it hugely serendipitous that Cobi rocketed into P3 in advanced mM with Zelboraf. Great match-up...but can it maintain commercial viability in a large competitive field? To my way of thinking, these are the potential issues limiting a higher market capitalization at this time. The maturing OS data from Meteor might well be viewed as the Golden Fleece. Its importance should not be undervalued.

Market perception is still in charge here, and Meteor top line reporting still hasn't helped us much. Cabo is still that controversial TKI with undeniable PFS benefit - yet perceived as possibly too toxic to confer statsig OS benefit. I think Mr Market awaits some clear cut differentiation in what is perceived as "just another" TKI in a crowded treatment space. To Wall Street, Cabo has become the "show me" TKI oncodrug in a quickly evolving treatment regime. Fear of untimely obsolescence may be driving a degree of skepticism regarding Cabo marketing longevity, thereby limiting commercial success. FWIW/JMO - I think the evidence-based clinical community will be quick to adopt Cabo in mRCC, particularly if bone involvement is a consideration.

In an addendum published in today's CHMP highlights, it's been indicated that a revision to the Mekinist EPAR is pending and a reissue will be available forthright. If I read it correctly, there will be no MAA provision for mono-therapeutic prescription of Mekinist - as had been previously mandated. I wondered about this possibility, as the same reasoning will likely apply to cobimetinib. This shouldn't impact prescribed use in melanoma, but I suspect that in denying monotherapeutic benefit has been observed, there is no provision enabling offAlabel prescription - putting NPU revenue potential off limit till future data displays a solo benefit. Evolving data may change this regulatory posture, but for the time being - I would consider Cobi to be "joined at the hip" with Zelboraf, it's mono therapeutic value an unknown quantity...

This seems like a good speculative spot to post two very likely presentation venues for Meteor data. In addition to ECC 2015 9/26-9/29 the 14th International Kidney Cancer Symposium meets first week of November in Florida. Both are potential binary catalysts, and may provide maturing OS data.
Be sure to keep 'em on yer calendar.

    Thanks for the reply, Ernie...
I traded a bit over the last couple days - something I seldom do, but the timing was appropriate. Nothing large, but managed to lower my cost basis a bit. The EMA CHMP monthly meeting ends today, and though Cobi is not on the published agenda - I suppose there's an outside chance for news on that front as meeting highlights become available. A late afternoon positive opinion from CHMP would make for a very interesting Friday PR - given the attention EXEL is getting right now. I'd really hoped we'd get news peripheral to the SPO just about now.
    Good luck to you, Sir...

Coupla quick questions, if you've time...
Do you think recent positive Meteor top line reporting will have an impact on Celestial recruiting?
Once I thought of this possibility, I went to Clinicaltrialsdotgov to check for updates, but the site hasn't been updated since end of May. Two years into recruiting - with planned interim assessments at 50% & 75% of events could give us news before long. Does EXEL have any commitment to share interim analysis? What tell-tales might we be looking for wrt a successful early interim assessment?
    Any thoughts? Good luck...
