Yes Zen is an Haswell equivalent. Haven't you heard Intel is on Skylake and 14nm in Volume. Zen taped out at TSMC 16nm (which is really 20nm).
No wonder Jim left. Like a said, they looked at Skylake and knew they didn't stand a chance. Goodbye Zen.
That's cuz.. There is very little gold in them thar mines folks.
This whole VR thing is overblown. The only people who will make $$ from VR are the advertisers and the game developers. Hardware is cheap.
decent graphics and DX12 will be able to do VR really well.
No need to buy an additional $499 graphics card.
And most of them will be used with Smartphones. Which means that VR headsets will work with any old graphics card that is faster than a Smartphone.
So much for the VR hype and Nvidia and AMD selling tens of millions of cards.
Cheaper AMD cards beat the heck out of the more expensive Nvidia cards.
You don't have to wait.. Windows 10 and DX12 will destroy Nvidia's marketshare.
Just too darned expensive IMO. May as well buy a $200 AMD card and get the performance of a GTX 980.
OMG.. AMD's lowly $329 card beats the hell out of Nvidia's $450 card. That says it all.
Nvidia SUCKS at Windows 10 and DX12.
If you want to upgrade buy AMD cards instead of Nvidia and futureproof your rig for Windows 10 and DX12.
They have a chance with graphics alone, but not with competing with both Intel and NVidia. They are picking the right fight.
Raja is the one.
AMD will recapture all its lost marketshare (35%) next year. No one will buy Nvidia cards.
Exactly.. parallel processing is a must for Windows 10 and DX12. These NVidia nuts with their overvalued stock are just getting boners on their stock price but the underlying fundamentals of the company sux. They have to rely on AMD's innovation for their HBM and parallelization.
real slow compared to AMD's offerings.
