Doug is legit. I checked him out. Lives in a nice house on Long Island near Huntington Bay where most of those hedge fund guys live.

Okay thanks, that helps a lot.

XCO certainly looks like dead money for many years but I don't see why that has to keep Wilbur on the sidelines. Maybe we get another colder winter or demand as dozens of older coal firing electric plants are being forced off line by the EPA each year. At some point the shorts will have to cover. I still say Harbinger's Mathew Grub is XCO's CEO and they don't even know it. Grubb is Prem Watsa's guy. It's just a matter of time before the worm turns.

So Doug, what's the status of those wells to date? Have there been any SEC filings concerning this subject? Does the agreement stagger on for years one by one for each well drilled or is there a set settlement date on all wells involved?

Why is EXCO paying a dividend?

Of course it makes no sense. Who do you think is getting the lions $ share of the 55 million while they wait for the shorts to cover and make their deal? There is no hurry for them. They are paying themselves until the KKR deal is put to bed.

Wilbur can do what ever he wants. Even as a XCO director he is the largest shareholder and is free to act in his own best interests. It's basically his company, he is the one on the hook and we are just tagging along for the ride. Read the SEC filings. He can make or break us, It's his to screw up if he wants. We know the risks. I bet you anything T Boone's sold shares were used to help drive XCO down into the dirt. The farm out deals are in themselves a way to stall and flush out the weak hands so Wilbur can pick for a dime. Douglas Miller did not enter into the Harbinger or KKR deal without Wilbur's blessing. It's not the way Wilbur he wanted it, but mild winters and excessive fracking messed up everything. His only goal now is to find a way to breakeven.

Billionaires like Ross and Marks would not be paying themselves a nice dividend each quarter nor talk about increasing the dividend if there was any possibility of BK. Harbinger Group is in the sweet spot Wilbur wishes he was in. Wilbur blew it. Wilbur Ross and his registration group can only average down as much as possible then take private at the lowest possible price. My bet would be $7. Now new money like Phil Falcone will step in an do Wilbur and Marks a favor down the road. Look at who owns the outstanding. Wilbur and his group currently own 49.9%, the shorts ~ 22%, the rest are poor suffering stuck retail. The shorts ( Wall street, Goldman Sachs ect..) and Wilbur are working hand in hand together in this. I can only imagine Wilbur is simply waiting for a major market correction this fall to make his move.

The only thing that has me worried is all the drillers currently flaring their gas up in North Dakota's Bakken field. They are ordered by the state to build gathering lines and bring that gas to market. That's what the are very busy doing this summer before winter sets in. There is going to be a bunch of added supply soon.

"If we go to our next segment which is your slide 16, that is the energy segment. Just as a reminder this is the joint venture that we own with EXCO Resources. And our strategy in this space to focus on long life assets, low decline properties with low geologic risk. The JV strategy continues to work very efficiently for us, and we continue to show maximize cash flow in this business. On the production side, this past quarter our production was consistent with our expectations yielding roughly 103,000 barrels of oil, about 125,000 barrels of NGL and 5,240 billion cubic fee of nat gas. Important to the production numbers as well if some of the cost initiatives that have been taken in JV under the leadership of Matt Grubb who is our CEO, and we continue to deliver attractive EBITDA numbers. This past quarter we delivered $20 million of EBITDA in this business which is more than double from where it was in 2013. Matt and his team have also been leading an initiative in terms of our capital investments and spend. And this past quarter there has been a big focus on re-completion and work over project as opposed to new drilling and those have yielded very attractive rates of return. One other thing just to mention in our energy area is we renamed this JV to Compass Production Partners. We believe this is an important step in helping the management team there to build their own standalone viable entity with our support and EXCO supporting going forward, so we continue to help them develop their own if you will company and vertical in that space. "

I think Matt Grubb will handle all the Haynesville and should be though of as XCO's CEO. Wilbur, Marks and others will recoup their stakes selling off the Eagle Ford and the Marcellus in private company without us.

The more you look at Harbinger, the more you realize Phil Falcone agrees with Wilbur about using Haynesville gas for Wilbur's ships and Falcone's export terminal. Unlike like Wilbur, Falcone is not too early to the nat, gas party.

True, in hindsight Wilbur really screwed up buying XCO at $20.00 a share while chasing after Douglas Miller's take private deal. Still, it doesn't mean I can't make some money here. XCO is ripe for a whole new ownership structure. I doubt very much Wilbur and Watsa screwed up buying XCO at $5. XCO is not going to remain as is much longer.

The Phil Falcone Harbinger Group side is the future, not the KKR deal wich was simply a farm out deal to buy time till nat. Gas stabilized.

Why is Wilbur and his registration group holding tight at 49.99% ownership of the outstanding ?
I think Wilbur pays $7 to the owners of the shorted shares and takes private overnight. No vote from shareholders would be necessary. It would be over in a blink of an eye.
