I do not think the SEC would permit a Company only polling a select group of shareholders. Then again maybe it is permitted by beavers in Canada.
BEAV-----Where is that Poll data you mouthed about concerning shareholders wanting to cut divy---Still waitig to hear where it can be viewed.
Beav---OK---Where was poll taken?---I'd like too read the results and also find out why I never received the poll as I am a long term shareholder.
HAm---Cattle futures?---Hell, the best bet of all must be hay futures since it appears we are going back to horse and buggy with no need for oil at all!!!!
PIS----Could be why the short interest has begun ti shrink just a little. the feeling may be the worst of oil price decline is done and a Mid $40 floor is in, and time to cover some of those very fruitfull short positions prior to what ever Dividendis anounced as the shorts must pay that dividend.
Short interest as of 12/31/2014 was 32,086,946 vs 12/15/2014 short interest of 33,838,084 while only a decrease of 751,138 it did bode well that it didn't increase in light of oil decline. Others, noteably PACD tripled in December from 2 million to more than 6 million. Not sure that the PGN numbers mean much---but in my mind all this shows the SECs is totally inept at dealing with the naked shorting and lack of any control with lack of uptick rule.
Surprisingly Short Interest in Noble Corp was down 2,935,171 to a short interest of 23,118,693 from the 12/15/2014 level of 26,053,864. Most other drillers I believe were up in this period. PACD [ Pacific Drilling] for example tripled in 1 month from 2,103,626 on 11/25/2014 to 6,325,729 on 12/31/2014. All this naked short selling appears to be condoned by the SEC.
Striking---11/28/2014short interest 2,103,626----------12/15/2014 short interest 4,147,155--------Latest reporting period ending 12/31/2014 short interest 6,325,729. In just one month short interest has tripled. Totally unbridled naked short selling with the abscence of an up tick short selling rule. The hedges just continue with a merciless assult on the stock.
Jack----I wouldn't put any money on that Div increase thought. All of the rest of us would be extremely happy if they could contine to pay the $.375.
HAM---it could just be some short covering prior to Div. Face it ,a 10% plus short interest would need to pay a hefty div and covering short here would be a nice profit also. So not sure hedges are going long just yet.
First Bankruptcy filed in Texas re a shale oil producer. Oil at les than $50 will have many more. I read cost to produce oil from shale is $60 min.
MD----You got the wrong guy----I never suggest some should not post expressing a opinion . Possibly some one who post ridiculous trash I might chastise but opinions are what these boards are all about. I think you mistake me for someone else. Give me some examples of what you claim I've done.
MD----ME---what did I say?----I only asked if consumption was done 50% 0r was supply up 50% to spark this percipitious drop in price of oil. That hardly warrants me speaking for anyone.
Has oil consumption really dropped off by more than 50%? Or, is it strictly supply has increased by more than 50%/. Last question ---how long can Oil shale/sand producers survive at oil less than $55.?
The silence from the BoD is deafening. I wonder if anyone knows what they are doing.. I feel though that declaring a dividend is essential for showing confidence in their Company
Nice , fairly safe trading stock----Pick it up low 20s or lower. collect the steady, growig dividends, sell high $ 22s or better. Held and traded for years---best stock I hold ---a little boring but , easy to live with
