Deal closes August 15th.
Currently #17 on US IOS Games revenue.
Way more then Deer Hunter and Dino Hunter US revenues combined.
Has anyone else noticed the $$ this game is generating?
1 year ago it was the same story, "GLUU is a 1 hit wonder" except the hit was Deer Hunter '14. Glu currently has 5 games in the US IOS top 100 grossing games category (counting the recently acquired Racing Rivals).
CIE acquisition closes tomorrow and "Racing Rivals" becomes Glu property. GLUU begins counting large revs for remainder of qtr. If Tap Baseball can turn downloads into revs Glu will have additional significant revs to add to KKH and Deer Hunter and Dino.
Yep. The street knows that. What is important is their guidance which will put an end to speculation on KK profit margins. We know Apple takes 30% but we should finally find out about Kim's cut. That might be the most significant moment of the conf call. Also, Think Gaming's estimates are too wide between the 3 and 4 spots so we should get clarity. Also, ad revs should be significant. Does Kim get a cut of that?
Actually, Stardom Hollywood was a decent success on it's own. Add celebs, give 'em their cut and take it to another level. Sounds good to me Peter. Whatever works, and this is clearly working.
CIE's "Racing Rivals" is a top 20 US IOS game. I estimate it's generating over 100k @day globally (much more than Deer Hunter). The deal closes next week & GLUU starts collecting revs for this qtr. They estimate more than 15 million in revs by years end from the game. GLUU has had a perfect track record with acquisitions. There's no reason to start doubting them now. KKH revs needed to be put to use. They acquired a profitable company, experienced/successful game makers & a racing platform. This enables GLUU to begin making other racing games using the same engine which is a HUGE $ saver. I think you don't fully understand GLUU's business model but this move is consistent with past successes.
I'm not a chart guy either but I think hopeful200 might be correct that today might be an aberration because of it being a low volume Friday before a holiday.
Lost in the rev success this week of the Kim game is the advertising rev potential with a Kardashian demo audience. She has a stable of products she endorses plus whosever else needs to advertise to younger women.
At that point GLUU will have generated enough cash from KK to acquire more companies with more engines and established titles and bring in top talent and release more titles per month. The KK cash flow and the recent secondary give them the $ to plow back into future revenue generators.
Currently I believe it's about $800K per day. Work backward from there.
Start tracking Racing Rivals as well (acquired in the CIE deal). It's generating big revs. Not sure how much of those revs count this qtr. might be all or only from the 8/15 deal closing date.
In case no one's noticed. "Racing Rivals" was acquired last week in the CIE deal. It's back in the US IOS games top 20 and generating about 12% of the revs that the Kardashian game is bringing in. The deal finalizes 8/15 & GLUU starts counting revs for the rest of the quarter.
I think there's a lot of people day trading GLUU down to its 50 MA and back up.
CIE acquisition is supposed to close tomorrow so the App Annie and Think Gaming sites will start showing "Racing Rivals" as a Glu game. Its in the IOS US Game top 20 grossing. If Tap Baseball hits the top 100 in grossing it could also give GLUU another shove., but right now we seem to be in a trading range.
I'm sure they wish it was stronger, but it's done well. They still made a lot of $$$ on Dino Hunter. It cost them little to make the game so they maxed out profit. Remember, this is the business model. Dino Hunter is essentially a reskin on top of a preexisting engine (Deer Hunter), so the profit margin on games like Dino Hunter is HUGE and helps offset the licensing costs on games like RoboCop, Kardashian James Bond, etc. You're just a pest but this is important info for people who really do want to understand Glu's business model.
