Yeah , definitely had an effect today so far. We shall see how it plays out by the close. The price will end up wherever the options bandits need it to be that's for sure.

They will rush for the exits ! The growth story is not as great any longer, IMO. The MoMo crowd will move on real fast if it continues this downtrend. The bogus analyst "upgrades" don't seem to have the same effect as they used to have on the price action, so I think the hedge funds are trying to quietly head for the exit before the mass exodus

  • Down 1% one day, up 1% next day. And the folks buying and selling are supposed to be "professionals" ! LOL
Too much computer /algorithmic and weekly option manipulation trading going on. This market seems to be ready to take a huge break, so I'm very cautious of going long on anything right now. Mostly cash for me.

That in itself should concern you about investing in this stock at this level. Stocks like TSLA, AMZN, LNKD etc have done the same based on "user" growth. "Subscriber growth", if it truly is growth, will not continue at past level. Its only so many potential users.

And you still rate NFLX a strong buy after what you just stated? Interesting. Everything is based on subscriber growth, even though no profits accompanying the "subscriber" growth.

Do Chinese pay to stream contents?

Furthermore, even if the Chinese people paid for streaming content, what are the chances the Chinese govt is actually going to let an American company dominate. ... Very slim, imho.

Insiders know what's coming! They would not be selling a significant portion of their TSLA stock if they expected it to keep rising that's for sure.

If Wall Street had not anointed the TSLA stock....

"Threat to humanity" ? Really? So you think that's what this is all about? Wow! Wall street is all about $$$.. period! Elon is only after using other's money to finance all of his pipe dreams and make himself richer! The EV is not going to save the planet. The electricity used to charge the EV's everyday is generated from methods that are not considered "green". The battery disposal is going to be a major problem as well, they can't be recharged forever. I doubt there is any old school $$ in TSLA for the long term. TSLA was initially financed with gov't $$ and then WS $$ was used to repay the govt loans. The giga factory construction started using state $$ and secondary WS $$. This story is all about $$$ !! TSLA will continue to need $$, lets see who steps up to the plate to save the planet. Will it be old school $$ as you say? I doubt it. I will wager it will be stock issuance (dilution) from this point forward until the well runs dry.

A big if.. TSLA is around in the same form 5 / 10 years from now and actually selling 500K autos per year. I don't see that happening because the demand is not that high for high priced EV's or any EV's for that matter. I'm also not convinced the highest priced components (batteries) will ever decrease in price enough to allow TSLA to build an affordable mass market car and competition at that price point will be fierce. Furthermore, TSLA or some entity will need to introduce new tech that allow a recharge to be as fast as filling up a gas tank in order to effectively compete with normal autos. Culturally, it would have to be a no brainer decision (no disadvantages at all) for the mass market consumer to choose an EV over the normal gas powered automobiles. At this time, the tech is just not available and not on the immediate horizon. In the meantime, TSLA the stock has run up so much that most probable direction is down on any company hiccup or market correction.

I'm not surprised by bulldozing or massive land deals. $$ talks and opens doors initially. That's why WS is onboard with TSLA for now. As long as WS can continue to hype the "potential", the story will continue. But eventually, reality of execution and real no hype profit potential will rear its head. Elon and "analyst" will not be able push the profit potential out to 2020 much longer. Not sure how many more rabbits Elon can come up with to continue hyping this story. In the end, TSLA will be an EV manufacturer, thats it, IMHO. If they can't get the price down to where the mainstream folks can afford it, they will never be mass market

Thanks for a well reasoned response, finally ! TSLA the company is not a failure. I have never said that. Its just not as successful as the stock's performance would indicate. WS has taken this stock to the moon as if TSLA the company has the auto world and the battery world all to itself. No competition.. with nothing but profits directly ahead even though they have only sold 31K vehicles in the past year worldwide. Everything Elon mentions is taking as a huge positive pushing the stock further north even though consistent profits are way off into the future, if ever. No I would not kick my kid to the curb for the honest attempts at whatever he/she wants to do , but I would ensure appropriate realistic expectations are set. Future performance expectations for TSLA the stock is not realistic based on past "hype/bubble" bursting experiences. Without WS continuous anointing and easy "momentum" favored market conditions, this stock could easily be cut in half if not more.

Because I'm negative on the stock and I'm looking for opinions from those who are long ? What's your investment thesis to stay long or initiate the purchase of TSLA shares at this level. Now answer the question. Do you have an investment reason for staying long the stock? So far no one has really given an investment reason... just a bunch of TSLA cheerleaders responding with stupid remarks.

Not a troll. I use only one id. Been negative on TSLA the stock for some time now and will remain that way because of the total disconnect between stock and company performance. So you think TSLA the company can sell enough EV's and now batteries to justify the current valuation? I think the top is near for this stock and all the stocks trading on hype and not realistic investment fundamentals.

  • Would you still consider TSLA the company a success? If so, why? How many longs can answer that question truthfully? If the stock was still trading below $50, would you be here day after day talking about future potential? Will you disappear from the board when TSLA the stock ultimately gets a dose of reality when all the hype disappears?
