Hold it for a few years. Brazil Peru Argentina Colombia Mexico Russia China. Those are all good. Now that oil has bottomed. Greece too but that makes no sense. Still, it is what it is. Natural gas goes down each day due to very heavy buying. Oil and gold you don't see that.
I bought. Losing on 1st purchase so this is 2nd. Small amounts so no hedging needed. Which is thrown out money. Small time bag holder. Nothing else works.
If you make a mistake, and the price keeps declining, you have to admit it. Playing mind games will not help. In markets, pride, the inability to admit a mistake, is the biggest downfall there is. So you have to add to the losing position. Catch that falling knife. There is no other way.
I don't sell losers. That way, I reduce my possible losses. Paid 1.31. Did not add because its OK to avg down but within limits. Plus, I like natural gas stocks now. As commodities rise this will also help shippers I guess. Finally after billions in losses, the public has given up on energy so the bottom is probably here.
If I did it on a regular basis very soon no money... And this was as good as it got. Right before a crash in both the market and the stock. But how many times will that happen?
So I dabbled a bit. But I can see how 100% of traders lose. Every single one. Endless head fakes. And everybody does the same thing since everybody 'learns' from the same history. Unless you are a small time multi year bag holder the market will take every penny. The arrogance, the stupidity, to think that you can....
That I did. NKE DIS GOOGL FSLR GILD. Everybody was so excited. Shorting is as we know trading thus can't work. Did just a bit for fun. It has to faced - unless you are a small time multy years bag holder you will never make it (DCM NTT). Sold the banks because they were to benefit from rising rates and all the airlines because of declining oil prices. Would have kept them but the fact that they were so loved meant they had to be distributed.
This hedge fund thing. It makes no sense. You buy what's good and to reduce risk sell short something bad. S This way two errors can be made. You are 'hedged' so make big bets. Let's say at the end of December buy this while shorting JCP.
There is no guarantee. Many of these companies went belly up. It's been downhill forever. Never a recovery.
Funny. I am long msft from 27 and gld as low as 102.5. Have cde hl gg asa. It has to do with trying to figure out what people are doing. A consensus is to be avoided and at very rare times betted against. Now with this here, it kept climbing because people rightly saw through it. Only when, after the great December, they became believers, one could finally short. A little. For fun. Since its trading which never works.
