China is where MU needs to build a chip factory. They will have to partner, but; they will be a success. I suspect that MU could make that move latter this year. XQ

    The Rising Wedge, Part 2

Sorry to say that a head and shoulders formation within a daily wedge pattern would be next to impossible. Why? Because it would either be so small it would actually not be of any significance. If you think about it, the upper and lower wedge lines would have to be violated before the pattern was complete. XQ

MU sitting at its 9 dma

MU's price has dropped below the 2 dma which has declined below the 4 dma. The 2/2/15 low of $28.09 offers very weak support and MU could retest the low of $26.32 put in place Oct 15, 2014. MU is oversold, but; we could see the price stagnate before the analyst conference. XQ

BOISE, Idaho, Feb. 4, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Micron Technology, Inc. (MU), will host an analyst conference on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015. Mark Durcan, Micron's Chief Executive Officer, and other executive officers will present Micron's strategy and provide an update on current market conditions.

MU sitting at its 9 dma

MU also tested the 18 dma at $29.71 and then fell back. We could see a retest of the 2/2/15 low at $28.09 and the lower BB at $28.13. It looks to me that a lack of any news could be a catalyst for a pull back in the interim and a retest of the low on 2/2/15. So In the short term it could be bad for longs. Which I am long, but; it is also good for me as I can sell some more put options for big $ and reduce my cost of my long position. When MU announces that they have bought a Billion dollars of stock and the convertible notes retired, we will see MU's PE go up. The buy back is good for existing shareholders.

Well it looks like the MM's pulled the price of MU back down just below the $29 level to $28.91. The MOP number going into today was $29.50. Looking at the call and put options activity for today, I can see that the MOP number shifted to $29. Of course that is not reflected in the number on the MOP web site as they do not calculate inter day numbers. This upswing in options activity really makes it difficult to figure out exactly where the MU price will end up. All in all MU has closed today with its price still above m.moc upper line of the falling wedge and back below the 2 dma, 4 dma and 9 dma. http://tinyurl.com/pynjew8 XQ

Here is a copy of my post. I was not speaking of the MOP; but of the number of call and put options traded in the $28.50 area. That action then makes total sense in light of the drop from an MOP of $30 to $29.50 today 2/6/15. On that day 2/3/15 MU had a low at $28.48, a high $29.09 and a close of $28.95 XQ

With MU now having options expire weekly, something has changed how option pain works on MU. Look at today's action in the FEB 6th $28.50 and above calls and the $28.50 and below puts. There is a lot of volume going on. Someone is betting on the price area.

The MM's favorite thing is to whipsaw the stock price during the last 2 days of options expiration. JNHO XQ Less

    see_it:
One reason why MOP is not working well with MU is that MU now has weekly options. That allows MM's / Big Money players to work the forward options for their benefit. It is like playing a 12 tier chess game. Most small options players pick a trade and the MM's are trading on multiple levels. I generally trade put options and only play calls once in a while. MOP only indicates where the most money will be lost by call and put option buyers. I rely on charts, patterns and moving averages also. The other thing is that whipsawing does occur and one can never predict when it will happen. Even on the last day of options expiration the stock price can close above or below the MOP based on trade actions in the options or trade actions in the stock. When I make a statement it is based on what I perceive at that time. I have been wrong at times and I have been spot on other times. You have to remember that the price of a stock is the combined sentiment of all players combined.

As I suspected MOP has moved up to $29.50 so we will see a close near that number. Go to my other thread and open up the chart link. MU has tested the 100 dma today.

As I said before Cole is owned by ARCP. Cole chooses the properties and bundles them into investment packages. Cole manages the properties and whatever is left over goes to ARCP. If you remember that Cole was a public traded REIT and was bought by ARCP and then they sold off the Cole porperties. Cole shareholders received ARCP stock.

Several days ago m.moc pointed out a well defined falling wedge formation that contained MU's stock price between the upper and lower downtrend lines. MU's stock price has been following the upper line down for the last 7 days. Today the price of MU has closed above the upper downtrend line and above the 2 dma, 4 dma and the 9 dma. MU back filled a prior gap up on Oct 17, 2014 but has not tested the low of $26.32 put in place Oct 15, 2014. There is still the possibility of a retest of that low.

So, yes, investors in 3D Systems (NYSE: DDD ) and Arcam (NASDAQOTH: AMAVF ) , GE's announcement brings us one giant leap (pun intended) closer to learning which company's or companies' printers will be included in the industrial giant's 3-D printing capacity ramp-up. 3D Systems and Arcam are the only two publicly traded companies that manufacture printers that can print in both titanium and inconel, which are the two most widely used metals in the aerospace industry.

Let me throw this at you. 90% of call and put option BUYERS lose money. It is a possibility that the options trade was one where he would have lost the premium paid and chose to pick up the stock. Just my thought. XQ

    flamoir;
MOP is at $29 and after looking at the actual outstanding call and put contracts that number looks correct. OP can change over time so it is hard to say based on one weeks option numbers. Over the last few months it seems that the stock price has closed below the op price. The MM's run the stock price up and down very efficiently. As I have stated before 90% of call and put option buyers lose money.
