Perhaps cleojrrj would be most pleased to be a candidate?
I noticed Scott's Miracle Grow paid Monsanto $500 million for roundup this year so it can be applied on baseball diamonds, school grounds, parks, playgrounds, lawns and golf courses.
For now we shall see how badly earnings are hit by China and exchange rate headwinds.
Side note: Wasn't MJN Downgraded again today, 10/09/2015 by Merrill Lynch?
MJN appears to have these issues:
1. Minimal growth / about flat over the past several years.
2. Currency Exchange rates /strong dollar (will get stronger if rates are increased).
3. Heavy dependence on China (about 30% or so?).
4. High PEG ratio. If it continues to have minimal growth in revenue, MJN is massively overpriced base on its PEG.
Did you know USA remains the leader in agriculture productivity due to a combination of government funded and private funded research?
Did you know the human genome project resulted in the creation of 310,000 private industry jobs related to the human genome.
Did you know taxpayer spending on mapping the midwest resulted in nearly all the agriculture production today?
Did you know the computer device you are using was developed using taxpayer funding in basic research?
Did you know that wireless devices /mobile data is a direct result of taxpayer funded R&D?
Did you know nearly all computer software languages were developed in government funded labs?
It is something you need to learn so you can benefit from knowledge.
Did you know the top priority of the Chamber of Commerce (PRIVATE) is spending on infrastructure? Not only does it create higher paying jobs but also provides greater efficiency and productivity of USA.
Countries that fail to push R&D are failures.
PRIVATE INDUSTRY DOES NOT DO BASIC RESEARCH.
PRIVATE INDUSTRY DOES APPLIED RESEARCH AFTER BASIC RESEARCH PROVES VIABILITY.
For you: Learn.
Poster was referencing research funding and resulting benefits.
I looked up correlation between basic research funded by taxpayers.
ILMN depends on research.
Basic research is taxpayer funded.
Applied research is both taxpayer and privately funded.
Historical data shows government funded BASIC research results in significant job creation, particularly at the high end.
I don't know who they are in bed with but all analytical services are paid and publish accordingly.
That is going to end soon with judges pounding the bench /table on all forms of market manipulation.
Just this week a judge ordered CME Group to divulge which clients are manipulating (in that case clients that are spoofing).
First, I already own the stock. I paid too much by a long shot (181 or so).
I will buy more when it becomes a value.
These numbers are too high right now:
Trailing P/E (ttm, intraday): 47.99
Forward P/E (fye Dec 28, 2016)1: 38.16
PEG Ratio (5 yr expected)1: 2.43 -- PEG ratio over 1.0 is always high risk.
Price/Sales (ttm): 12.28 -- Price/Sales over 5.0 is a problem.
Price/Book (mrq): 14.18
You are right. China will provide the lowest cost on anything you want. 70% of the fish sold in USA is Chinese, 50% of the apple juice, 80% of the junk you buy.
As to pharmaceuticals, you are WRONG because it is REPUBLICANS who REFUSE to require competition in pharmaceuticals.
I agree, particularly when it comes to insecticides, pesticides, drones, smog producing companies, product resulting in mercury in the water as bi-products, salmonella infested meats unless you inspect and test the meat yourself, salmonella infested peanut butter, toys that choke children, lead based paint, chemically contaminated foods, food products produced in unknown countries like fish, apple juice (did you know the bees died) , plague infested cereal grains, .........and 10,000 other products
After all, prior to 1776 we only had Thomas Jefferson to rely upon.
There is absolutely no reason why YOU cannot inspect your own meats and ensure your children do not play on lawns on which nerve agents have been applied.
Bush and Putin called each other "soul mates" as they hugged and kissed each other on their cheeks.
Then Putin tanks rumbled into Georgia and took 1/3rd of Georgia.
That was Putin's version of the "canary in the country mine" and it cleared the way for Crimea.
She is one powerful and highly intelligent woman who is hated by the rest of us.
One tweet from her is equal to a million from the rest of us.
We are headed for negative interest rates and uncontrollable deflation unless:
1. Minimum wage is increased to $15 nationwide immediately.
2. At least $1 trillion infrastructure refurbishing is passed immediately.
(Travel the rest of the world and YOU will see the comparative DISASTER USA infrastructure has become. Nightmare roads and bridges, airports falling apart, schools with leaky roofs and mortar falling apart, and plenty more garbage dump looking USA).
What is it about PRGO that makes it worth $15 billion say nothing of $27 billion?
Statistics indicate 80% of all upgrades are wrong.
Statistics indicate 80% of all downgrades are wrong.
Thus you may be right.
Logic says you downgrade if you want to buy and upgrade when you want to sell. I guess it would be nonsensical to do otherwise.
No. $16 is support. Already broke down through $30.
Too much debt.
No catalysts to support the stock. More catalysts for downside than up.
Goldman Sachs targeting $20 oil price which eliminates new offshore drilling and reduced /shut down of marginal offshore rigs, particularly deep water.
