You say GOP congressional delegation is #$%$ in the polls compare to Odummy, but what you fail to mention is that the demo#$%$s in congress are as well. LOL.
Imagine if we had spent the $3,700,000,000,000 on solar infrastructure rather than welfare programs that Obama has spent the money on.
Lang, "full employment" is no longer possible because the jobs being created are low wages. The boom of the 90s has come to and end because of the boom of the 90s. In the 90s, the technology advancements paid good wages and those people spent money. Now with the technology of the 90s grown up, the companies can pay some yahoo in India or else where because the advancement in technology allows remote work more readily. That hurts the new job market that technology created in the 90s.
....and that $0.00 travel costs means the car never wears out and they don't have to pay taxes to have the roads built. How great is that free travel!!!
The economy did not implode in 2008. Unemployment would be 25% if the economy imploded. When Clinton took office, the economy was really starting to pick up and continued to do so through the year 2k. It was driven by the internet and technology advancements. Companies hired and spent billions of dollars updating systems. Clinton "tax increases" it could be argued were offset by the cut to welfare as pushed through by the GOP and Clinton signed. People were forced to actually work for a living.
If those criminals would just start obeying the law... LOL. Dang, we need more laws for the criminals to ignore.
He didn't follow the mandate "law" in the legislation so why would he follow something as plain as "established by the state"? I like the argument the "defense" used to say...."that is not what congress meant". I guess I could argue that congress didn't mean to tax my income either...and not pay it? Just because it is in the legislation doesn't mean that is what congress meant.
...but the idiot idiotpumper99 will be here to see every posts of springer....and wondering why springer is so much smarter. LOL
That is the problem with you libs and your arguments. You can't do math. ROFLMAO. You will argue that 1 + 1 = 3.
A local station had reporter in Honduras reporting on all the children being sent to the US. This is the poverty stricken place where everyone had a mobile phone and was on social media. The people were telling the reporter that people were willing to take the chance because the US President had said they could stay. This goes back to the "don't send the kids back" policy of Obama. It just goes to show you Odummy has made this problem much worse.
Okay to the lib that apparently has been drinking and making up their own facts again. LOL
Furniture companies are going broke because NOBODY has a job that will pay worth a #$%$ to buy it. Simple! That is why you see the $2000 bedroom suite marked down to $1000. You really think it costs $1500 to make it?
We were not talking about USED furniture as you mentioned. Of course used furniture sells for pennies on the dollar. That is because of the huge markups on NEW furniture.
You could go do a web search and find tons of research on product markups but that would assume you had the ability actually read which is appearing more and more obvious that you do not....back to the ignore list for you. LOL
Well, I guess you are willing to give the GOP credit for all of Bill Clinton's success then since they owned the House for most of his time in office. Thanks.
Apparently you have never been a buyer in the retail industry especially in high end items such as furniture. The 35/40% gross margins you talk about are AFTER the markdowns and they account for waste (people stealing, returning damage good, and such). I am not sure if you have a Kohl's in your area but if you ever buy anything from them that is not marked down at least 30% then you are getting ripped off and they seem to stay in business.
In fact Brand name clothing can carry 250% to 350% markup. Even one website example shows Kohl's jeans at $21.99 a pair has 112 percent markup from wholesale pricing. That is how they can afford to send you all those 30% off coupons.
Over the counter brand name medication markups? Are you sitting down? 200 to 3000 percent.
Go do your own web search and research it.
Lang, I think you still missed my point. Prior to Odummycare, if I am the CEO of an insurance company, then if I have $100 coming in by way of policy holders (ie, you) and wanted to spend say $30 on the CEO (ie. me) then I would squeeze the doctors to just take $70. Post OdummyCare, instead of squeezing the doctors down to $70, I just increase their pay to say $120 and they are really happy. I raise your price to $150 via premiums and I still pocket my $30 (20% of the now $150 I am charging insurance buyers). To top it all off, I charge you $160 and through great marketing say I am being nice to you and giving you a $10 refund.
You are out $50 even with your $10 refund, I still get my raise and the doctors are all happier.
lang, you need to learn to do math and learn a little marketing. This is the same as most clothing stores, furniture retailers, and such that mark things up by 200% and give you a 25% discount.
Odummy didn't do anything but cause companies like Humana to pick some arbitrary rate that was greater than they knew was needed to meet the 80% (or whatever the number is) that has to be paid to medical providers. They make sure the 20% max is reached by overcharging and giving rebate. Idiot consumers like yourself think you saved something because you got $100 back. I bet you are thrilled to get a tax refund as well. LOL.
Humana just has to raise what they will pay for procedures, hospital stays, etc. and increase the premiums by more. It makes no difference to them now because they can keep 20% for salaries, buildings, profits and such. They more they pay out to medical providers, the more they get to keep in their pocket all the while making you think you got a discount. A genius business model for insurance companies.
I worked a "cost plus" contract once and I was allowed to spend money like crazy. The company was basically getting reimbursed for actual costs plus x%. The more I spent, the more the company made. This is basically the same model....and that sucks.
Nothing better than being your own boss.....a great gig if you can get it.
Bush and the GOP was warning and trying to do something about the Fannie and Freddie disasters back in 2005 and 2006. If Nancy and the libs would have listened then maybe 2007 - 2009 would have been avoided.
If Odummy wouldn't keep on insisting on letting in illegals and H1Bs then maybe some of these folks might still be working or would at least have a chance of finding another job. Just as the #$%$ blamed everything on Bush (even the weather) then now it is Odummy's time to start taking credit for things gone bad.
You and Krugman should go read before you make a fool or yourself. Texas used the rainy day fund plus some "tricks" (like deferring some bill to future legislative sessions) to balance the previous budget during the downturn in the economy. However, by the 2012-13 year (notice your article is 3 years old) the budget paid all deferred bills, accounting changes were revoked, and a balanced budget was passed. In fact the 2013 budget year ended up with a surplus of $5.5B dollars. The current 2014 - 2015 budget raised spending by $7B and it is projected there will be a $2.6B surplus.
Again, go read the real facts before you make a fool of yourself again. LOL.
