Give Vonage their due. They answered IQ type questions better than the volunteering employees of other companies who entered. I think Microsoft or Yahoo have been in this competition before. I'd like to know whether finance companies like Goldman Sachs were invited too. It's invitation only.
I watch this competition winner how it trades each year on the announcement. Du Pont won a few years ago. The joke is to outsource competition questions to a call center in India. They are answered by competitors, not by an outsource contractor. Maybe the smartest members of the staff will use the credential to leave with winner company. In that sense this competition can hurt the winner. It risks causing a brain drain.
Going lower. Why am I not surprised. We are coming up on Vonage earnings for a year where the CFO quits, the CMO quits, the PR firm is being ousted, the advertising firm is being fired (not renewed), and Chairman of the Board (founder, strategy officer) has sold and sold and insider sold hundreds of thousands of shares, while sales for competitors like Magic Jack and 8x8 are also under great competition facing challenge too. Reality sets in as down it goes.
Vonage is obviously a well orchestrated kitty to fork cash over to Jeffrey Citron. Professionals know better than to trust Citron. A lot of the net-cash influx into Vonage is involuntary by tracking or sector funds.
