How many of Key Hilton Hotel Executives remain? 0 at the last count. That was a 25b purchase still, if they had waited about a year 25b would have bought the entire industry! Although, the hospitality industry has improved it remains fragile. To spend that much money and lose that much experience? Not the smartest guys in the room methinks!

WIW is more of a perceived hedge (TIPS) then a real hedge, It should be looked at a money market substitute (a real plus today)and/or a source of funds when opportunity arises.
CNBC just announced that it is expected within a month the Up-Tick rule will be reinstated by the SEC. Finally, they got it but not before the volatility damaged many stocks perhaps even beyond repair.It will not prevent a stock or the overall market from going down just slows down the roller coaster.
I assume you don't understand my point. Which is fine, I made my comments as to point out the exceptional volatility in AWF was being caused by day traders...both ways. As far as the underlying fundamental issue this weeks problem was discussed on the front page of yesterday's, (Monday) WSJ.
Rethink your statement. The shorts are day trading the stock. When the stock goes ex-dividend the price usually reflects that event by a decline somewhat relative to the amount of the dividend. In this market frequently the declines are more then the dividend paid.
