I looked at Yahoo Finance and it seems to be paid at differing and erratic times...sometimes 3 months from last and sometimes 1 month from last. Is this so and why?
Should I omit the MLPs that my broker's 1099B form classifies as Code X since I need to do a K-1 for each?
In Turbo Tax Premier, for form 1099-B, I am given the option to check box X for issues sold where the cost basis is not reported to the IRS. In my case, these are all Master Limited Partnerships. Since these require that I do K-1 for them, should I omit these from the 1099-B data entry? I don't want to enter them twice. For some reason, my broker classified these under Code X.
I have searched the TurboTax website about this..have seen related types of questions..but the answers are all super complex, and frankly, nonsensical.
I bought TT to do my taxes..but it still doesn't seem to handle K-1s right. If we have to put info into 1099-B AND the K-1 for a Master Limited Partnership, won't the info be doubled..and why IS THERE KNOW CLEAR ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION AT THE TURBOTAX ANSWERXCHANGE WORKSITE?..
In 2014 I sold ETP and some other MLPs. I just got the tax document from my broker and they include all the MLPs I sold on the 1099-B.The show some kind of Cost Basis (probably what I paid for it) but say that the cost basis wasn't sent to the IRS (though the acquisition, sales date, quantity and amount at sale are). They list my sold MLPs under section 'Code X' which includes those issues that I sold where the cost basis was not reported to the IRS. In turbotax, I noticed that Turbotax requires that you organize your sales by different such codes...A,B, C, X...etc, each which has a different meaning..like sales being long or short term.
How should I handle this on my taxes when I do it with Turbotax? Do I fill out BOTH the 1099-B AND the K-1 for these MLPs? Also note that I do not download the tax data from my broker to Turbotax. I enter it manually...sale by sale so I know what is going on. I looked at the TT website and saw several posts regarding an issue like this posted last year..but no really clear answer. How are you handling this? How should I do this? Thanks.
I just noticed that linkedin has changed their website.I also noticed that the 1st, 2nd & 3rd level connection count that I have that they always showed IS NOW GONE! Why is this? Anyone know? I sent them this question and just got back a response saying they would consider 'enhancing' their website with it. What? Until now, they have always had this.Looks like they are going the way that Microsoft did when Microsoft dropped their Stockscouter tool from MSN Money which caused me to stop using them.
as more and more long term customers leave rather than be forced to join and pay for their "exclusively for Prime members" garbage. The other day I tried to buy a product at their website that I have bought many times before...was it said I had to be a PRIME member to get it...had to send them an additional $99 or whatever. This is #$%$!!! I also found that the product name of what I wanted to buy is 'owned' by Amazon so can't find it elsewhere. HOWEVER..it is a generic medicine that I take for my arthritis and bought the same thing under a different name elsewhere. Am waiting to get it in the mail. My guess is they will increasing the products that require this...trying to suck more $$ out of their customers..soon to be non customers any longer.
What is this #$%$!!! I was going to buy a product I have bought many times from them and their website said I now have to be a 'prime' member to get it...what kind of #$%$ is this? Am looking to buy it elsewhere.
