That may be true..after rates go up for quite awhile...HOWEVER...when rates start going up...I expect the demand for real estate to increase because the longer you wait...the higher your new mortgage will be as rates go up.
Why? Because demand to buy real estate goes UP when interest rates are going up because to wait just means higher mortgage payments on loans...so better to buy as soon as possible...right?
When I have TT do an error check, I am getting error messages of Nustar regarding box 16 on the K-1 involving Foreign Transactions. Anyone having this problem and if so, anyone know how to fix it. I was unable to find a solution at the TT website yet.
Will AT&T send form 1095-C, which has to do with the new healthcare reform act...TO RETIREES who have an AT&T Health Plan?..if so, I assume they will be doing this starting next year, right? thanks.
I don't have a problem with a cef offering both cash dividends or additional stock.however i do not like it if they make the additional stock the number one choice unless the stock owner tells them otherwise!!! What a pain!!! This means that you have to keep up to date with all the little notices your broker sends you...and if you have 40 issues or more...what a pain!!! They should make cash dividends the choice unless told to do otherwise. The fact that they do it the way they do suggests they have an ulterior motive that ain't in the stock owner's best interest. Combine this with the fact that their unii is approaching zero...and what does that say? .. And they don't just do this once a year...it appears to be all the time.i looked at the history of what i was getting from them and it has always been shares (although i wasn't aware of this)..and guess what... The share price has been on a long term decline...
This is garbage!!! read my recent post on what I just discovered they are doing!! They apparently are not paying the dividend!!! They apparently are giving you a choice of getting dividend OR getting more shares...AND...getting more shares IS THE NUMBER 1 CHOICE..unless you go through the hassle of contacting them and telling them otherwise..and they have been doing this crap since I have owned them. I just got this notice from my broker today...and it provided a link to go tell them..and guess what..the link didn't work.
I just found out that RVT is not automatically paying my dividends!!! I got an electronic notice from my broker..I get many of these and simply don't have the time to look at them..but I did today..and saw that it is from RVT...with the CHOICE of getting more shares instead of the next dividend..and guess what?..not getting the dividend and getting the shares..IS THE AUTOMATIC CHOICE unless you go through the hassel of contacting them ... so you have to contact them every friggin time to collect the dividends..which is what I bought this garbage for in the first place!!! Can you believe this?..and the in the notice, they put an internet link where I could make this choice online.I tried going to this link...and got some Yahoo search nonsense that made no sense..that is..the link didn't work. I also noticed that in the past...they have been giving more of these declining shares instead of the dividends.... This is @*#&. Anyone feel the same way?
I looked at Yahoo Finance and it seems to be paid at differing and erratic times...sometimes 3 months from last and sometimes 1 month from last. Is this so and why?
Should I omit the MLPs that my broker's 1099B form classifies as Code X since I need to do a K-1 for each?
In Turbo Tax Premier, for form 1099-B, I am given the option to check box X for issues sold where the cost basis is not reported to the IRS. In my case, these are all Master Limited Partnerships. Since these require that I do K-1 for them, should I omit these from the 1099-B data entry? I don't want to enter them twice. For some reason, my broker classified these under Code X.
I have searched the TurboTax website about this..have seen related types of questions..but the answers are all super complex, and frankly, nonsensical.
I bought TT to do my taxes..but it still doesn't seem to handle K-1s right. If we have to put info into 1099-B AND the K-1 for a Master Limited Partnership, won't the info be doubled..and why IS THERE KNOW CLEAR ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION AT THE TURBOTAX ANSWERXCHANGE WORKSITE?..
