    Milestone Payment coming from Chugai

I respectfully disagree....The outstanding warrants can be exercised AFTER results are released (date is up to May 30th I believe) for $2.75. Basically financing is already in place. Don't underestimate the relationship with Chugai (Roche). Positive results will generate partnership offers with ATHX being able to dictate terms. Gil, et al. have done an excellent job positioning the company going into results...

That would be pure speculation....How much would funding phase III be worth to the share price? How big would the up-front payment be? What would the milestone payments look like? How big of a percentage would we get in a royalty?

Roche could decide that Multistem is a platform that fits in conjunction with their pipeline....If that's the case we could be talking buyout. That's why I ask the question... What other names are out there that fit?

  • If you're biding your time until results like I am...You look for things that make you go "Hmmm"

This is from the section on partnerships. "At Roche we are looking for first-in-class or best-in-class opportunities that address diseases of unmet medical need and have the potential to revolutionise the standard of care. We focus on our main disease therapy areas- oncology and Immuno-oncology, ophthalmology, infectious diseases and neurosciences- as well as looking at opportunities in promising technologies and early stage collaborations. Beyond the asset, we always look for the right partnership and cultural fit.

We are not looking for compounds that represent marginal improvements compared to the current standard of care. Roche is not interested in biosimilar compounds or compounds that that do not have the potential to become first-in-class or best-in-class."

Partnership with Chugai checks off the cultural fit box.
Unmet need and revolutionise the standard of care...We will know that in 10-12 days.
My conclusion is that this is could be a done deal should results be positive. Anyone care to toss out another name for a potential bidding war?

Where ya been? This board is SO much more interesting when you're around. I see both times you posted the last two days have marked the bottom of the days trading range. How do you do it? How does your timing manage to be so spot on?
I'm glad you're determined to short this to zero...One has to have a goal in life.

He was also in Tokyo when the partnership agreement was signed...He wasn't on vacation

Cup and handle pattern confirmed....We broke out of the handle and past the pivot point ( at least .10 above the right side of the base of 2.94/2.95) on increase in volume of at least 50%...Textbook!

What's next? IMO we just started the run into the 4's pre-result. I can't see any concerted selling between now and mid April. Then again a big fundamental change, either macro or company specific, can trump ANY technical analysis. Be strong longs, our time has come!

A rise above 3.05 (the pivot point) on heavy volume confirms the breakout. We need to see volume 50% above normal...Not a big stretch

Not raining here....I'm in 100 % agreement on the binary events (both past and future). Just trying to communicate what's happening now with the price and volume action as I read the numbers. You have to agree volume is drying up (look at the daily #). My point is that we're getting rid of the last remaining 'weak hands', and thus the slow drift of price action.

Thanks for the thoughtful and respectful response...I like to hear opinions from other IBDers and what they see in the tea leaves.

If you look at a weekly chart from April 23 2014 thru March 2 2015 and draw a line across the two points you get $2.94/$2.95. Throw out the precipitous drop, it doesn't matter how or why the stock went down. More importantly is the bottom and right side of the pattern. This indicates a steady base being built over time until it get's to the $2.94/$2.95 level on the right side of the cup.

IMO we're seeing the basic formation of the handle. The forming of the handle area is usually one or two weeks in duration and has a downward price drift (shakeout) neat the end of it's down-drifting movement. Trading volume dry ups normally occur near the lows in the pullback phase of the handle (what we're seeing here).

    When handles occur they should:
    * Form in the upper half of the overall base structure as measured from peak to trough of the cup (it is)
    * Be above the 200 day moving average ($1.67 we got that going for us)

What does this mean? If you believe that history repeats itself in the market, and that chart patterns repeat themselves (the foundation of technical analysis), then we could be near the final shakeout of the sellers. The stock will start going up on increasing volume until it gets to it's pivot point then blast through on enormous volume.....Anyway, that's the picture as I see it

    For those that sold today...

wahn......I'm thinking we worked through a big chunk of 'Overhead Supply'. Some that bought into the UC run up and held through results are now getting close to even. Human nature being what it is, some will sell to recoup their losses. Actually, the selling will prove to be healthy. Once this gets chewed thru there will be no more weak hands holding shares.
IMO we're close to that now. The price action leading up to the UC results and what we're seeing now is so similar it's scary....The pre release run up just started and has a lot of room to move. We added a fundamental event today with the partnership announcement that wasn't there last year. This could add more pressure and take the price higher than last time.
For those that have been here a while (2007 for me), these are exciting times. Today I was surfing the ATHX website and clicked the YouTube video that was on the right side of the homepage. Rob Mays, Head of Neuroscience and Director of Regenerative Medicine, was impressive as he spoke about the market and the trial...It's a great way to spend 5 minutes.
    Keep the faith!
