Short Float is 18.03% - In HK and the company only speaks at quarterly opens the door for the shorts in between. So investors wait 3 months then Floyd provides low guidance numbers only to beat expectations. Then he closes the presentation with low guidance again and this goes on and on while the company is at 50,000 BOE/D threshold.

Wells released from “Tight Hole Status”

    by zoom_bee Feb 1, 2014 11:16 AM

HK met and exceeded guidance, but not by as much as I thought originally. Along with transition to pad wells where 3-6 wells were started means 75-150 days before results are seen. One pad with a great producer up in Four Bears had to be shut down while 3 wells were added to the pad; so 16 days in October and 12 days in November with no production from a top well. So November I was worried about. However, the "Tight Hole status" wells coming off the confidential list are showing November add-ins and they topped 42,000 BOE/D and these 5 new wells coming off the list this week will be nice.
December crushed the street. Halcon is the last company in again for this report so we are a couple of days away and I'll know for sure.

    Dude - NO LOWER GUIDANCE
Halcon has 434 wells that they operate in North Dakota for a production rate of 33,940 which equates to 31,163 BOE/D sold - then apply 94% WI%
Halcon has 38 wells that they operate in Montana for a production rate of 336 BOE/D that equates to 254 BOE/D after flaring
Halcon has 11 wells in Ohio at 572 BOD (IP) and 6 in Pennsylvania 146 BOE/D the PA 146 BOE/D was sold, but the Ohio oil I can't tell
Halcon has 92 wells with 74 producing in Texas for a 14,635 BOE/D but WI % brings it down to 10,537
    Pads well reporting in January
So your general statement is totally mal-stated. The previous guidance in the last quarter was because pad wells were being drilled. Now they are drilled and reporting so just like Gary the Indian stated... or did he bite his tounge. Bite-me we are a $100 stock and up Continentals butt for #1.

Infrastructure includes the “rail” and loading facilities as it is cheaper to transport by rail tankers than by truck. Their facility has a 20 rail car loading platform and can load 15,000 BOD with 6 loaders and won’t be fully completed until late 2014. The railroad tracks were close to completion, Halcon has 11 wells drilled and 8 more permitted. Process and storage facilities don't happen overnight, they have permits and plans approved for the Lordstown facility but its the infrastructure to get to the facility that also is taking place. They have the rail and approval for pipeline._ _
NILES - City Council voted unanimously during Wednesday's regular meeting to allow a Houston-based driller to use a portion of city land for the installation of a pipeline.
Halcon Field Services was given access to about 60 feet of land near Salt Springs Road along the Niles Greenway Bike Path. It will stretch into Weathersfield Township, officials said.
Niles is one of several Trumbull County communities that was given a proposal by the driller for what is expected to be a 14-mile long pipeline stretching from Vienna to Lordstown.
Halcon will pay the city a total of $1,462 for use of the property, according to Mark Hess, the city's engineering, grants and development coordinator.
"We actually added language to the proposal that says the property contained is a bike trail and it will always operate that way," Hess said. "It will have no negative impact on the bike trail."
Hess said the pipeline will run perpendicular to the bike trail, eventually lying underneath it before crossing into Weathersfield.
Other communities considering the pipeline proposal include Brookfield and Girard. Halcon has permits or has drilled eight Utica Shale horizontal wells in Trumbull County and three others in Jackson Township, Mahoning County.
"I'm glad that the city could work with Halcon to get this pipeline put in," Councilman Ed Stredney said after the 7-0 vote. "I feel like it's a good thing."

  • Utica Shale Gusher Suggests a Bright Future for These Oil Stocks
By Matt DiLallo | More Articles
    January 29, 2014 | Comments (0)
Antero Resources Corp (NYSE: AR ) recently put out an operational update that included production numbers from the company's most recent Utica Shale well. The results were very good. This suggests a bright future is in store not just for Antero Resources, but also for companies like Magnum Hunter Resources Corp (NYSE: MHR ) and Halcon Resources Corp (NYSE: HK ) , which are still just beginning to drill in the Utica Shale.
    Rich results for Antero
Antero Resources drilled five Utica Shale wells since reporting third-quarter earnings. These wells delivered 24-hour peak processing rates of 32.2 MMcfe/d of natural gas. Even better was the fact that 65% of the production from these wells were liquids. Overall, the wells delivered an average of 1,897 barrels per day of natural gas liquids production in addition to 11.2 MMcf/d of dry natural gas.
These wells were even better than the 11 initial wells that Antero drilled into its core area of the Utica Shale. On average those wells delivered 30-day production rates of 445 barrels of NGLs per day in addition to 10.4 MMcf/d of natural gas, with liquids representing an average of 53% of the volumes. While the production from those wells were constrained, it is good to see Antero Resources' latest wells produce really liquids-rich results.
    Others still waiting
Antero Resources' investors are starting to understand that the company is sitting on a solid position in the Utica. However, investors in both Halcon Resources and Magnum Hunter Resources are still waiting for that same proof.
So far Magnum Hunter Resources has only been able to book the reserves of one Utica Shale well. Even that well was still only partially completed after it suffered some issues downhole. However, given what Antero is seeing it's looking more likely that Magnum Hunter Resources, with nearly 100,000 net acres.
