I worked for both Time Warner and Comcast for 32 years. If I had it to do over again I would have changed careers. They are ruthless money sucking companies

Wouldn't it be interesting to see all the players (cable, tv and DBS) all have the same rules and laws to follow and then see what would happen?

I agree with several posting here about TimeWarner Cable (TWC) being bad. It is no wonder they are losing video customers. Their prices are out of control.

When I signed up with TWC a couple of years ago for the basic internet/phone service (no cable video), they were about $70 dollars a month. From there on, the rate creeped up a couple of dollars every two months.

Now it is $87 dollars a month and with no end in sight. I called them (and e-mail too) to complain but they seemed to care less. Instead they lied to me by telling me it was a special charge (to get me off their back.) Naturally the price did not drop. In the meantime, they sent me bunch of standard e-mails, raving how great their service was and how much features they had added, presumably to justify the bi-monthly rate increase.
I think once there is a more viable basic phone/internet service for home, we will see a much greater monthly customer desertion of TWC.

Shouldn't an earnings report show earnings, not subscribers?

Charter does not give quality service. Pay for several stations and can never be sure I can get them to come up for viewing. Am unable to get another package cable service where I live.

I'm in the same boat. Charter sucks and u-verse is not yet available in my area.

I left Time Warner for Direct TV because Time Warner's prices are getting out of control and their content falls way behind Direct TV. I called to cancel and they could not care less, two months later they call to ask me to come back. Not only were they too late, they could not even get near what Direct TV gave me. Time Warner will continue to lose business to until it figures out price and content are what consumers want.

Yeah I kept telling a guy I work with to make the switch from Time Warner to Direct TV. Hed moved into a new house and did it. He told me the next day at work he was stupid for not listening to me sooner. He didn't realize how many channels you got with it for less. Also Direct TV is pretty good about not going out. It has to be are really bad storm.
