Acacia Subsidiary Enters into License Agreement with American Ballast Corp.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Acacia Research Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTG - News) announced today that its Lighting Ballast Control LLC subsidiary has entered into a settlement and license agreement with American Ballast Corp. covering patents relating to electronic lighting ballasts. The agreement resolves litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The technology relates generally to controlling power to fluorescent lamps. The technology may be used in lighting ballasts for commercial and industrial applications.
