Affiliated Computer Services snags 5-year IT contract

DALLAS (AP) -- Affiliated Computer Services Inc. on Thursday said it has received a 5-year contract renewal to provide information technology services to Symetra Financial Corp.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Affiliated said it was worth several million. Symetra sells annuities, life insurance and other financial products. It is owned by an investor group led by White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd. and Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
Affiliated has managed Bellevue, Wash.-based Symetra's voice and data networks, as well as provided other IT services to the company, since 2004.
Shares of Dallas-based Affiliated rose by a penny to $45.06 in morning trading.
