MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Alliant Techsystems Inc. said Wednesday it has received a $49.3 million U.S. Navy contract for missile warning system components.
ATK's AAR-47 missile warning system, which is installed on aircraft, is designed to protect helicopters and aircraft against surface-to-air missiles. The systems are installed on more than 2,600 fixed and rotary-wing aircraft, the Minneapolis company said.
Most of the work will be done at Alliant Techsystem's Clearwater, Fla., site and is expected to be completed in early 2012.
Its shares fell 68 cents, to $77.01 in afternoon trading.
