Ametek acquires 2 companies in India

Ametek buys 2 businesses in India, Unispec Marketing and Thelsha Technical Services

PAOLI, Pa. (AP) -- Ametek Inc., a manufacturer of electric motor and aircraft monitoring equipment, said Monday it bought two privately owned sales and service businesses based in India.

Terms of the deal for Unispec Marketing Pvt. Ltd. and Thelsha Technical Services Pvt. Ltd. were not disclosed.

Ametek Chairman and CEO Frank Hermance said the acquisitions will provide an established sales, distribution and service network with a total of 11 office across India.

It will also help strengthen its presence in India through Ametek Instruments India Private Ltd., which was established earlier this year.

Shares of Ametek added 59 cents to $35.25 in afternoon trading.
