ANNAPOLIS, Md., Oct. 2, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Author V.M. Fry treats poetry lovers and art aficionados as she unveils a parade of artistry in a poetry anthology. Released through Xlibris, Basking Sharks presents a highly moving collection of vibrant and rich poems and artistic illustrations.

In lyrical verse that displays vast emotional strength, Fry paints a vivid picture of the many faces of the heart. Penning down over forty poems with compelling themes, she captures sentiments on philosophy, life, love, and melancholy. Each poem featured in this release is carved out of the emotions of a woman whom many others can relate to. The piece "Life Beside Henry's Fence" is a witty and outright tale of how a lazy man is perceived by society. "Bedtime Stories" is a sweet reminiscing of a father's gentle love that is often felt through story telling at bedtime. An endearing tribute to a woman's tender guidance, the poem "Fugues" tells of the little things that make a remarkable mother and wife. "Choices" is a melancholic yet witty reminder of how a heart should be careful in making decisions about love.

Interwoven between the riveting poems are breathtaking illustrations that artistically define each topic. Readers of Basking Sharks are bound to embark on an eye-opening and thought-provoking journey through life amid the background of literature and artistry.

This book will be featured in the California Library Association Book Exhibit in Pasadena, California on October 31-November 1, 2009. For more information, log on to www.Xlibris.com.
