Bio-Rad will pay $67.5M for Biotest assets
Bio-Rad Labs will buy Biotest AG diagnostic assets for $67.5M, gaining blood banking products

HERCULES, Calif. (AP) -- Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. said Friday it will buy diagnostic assets from Biotest AG for 45 million euros ($67.5 million).
Bio-Rad said the acquisition will give it new products that can be used in blood banking. The deal will close in the first quarter of 2010, pending regulatory approvals, Bio-Rad said.
In afternoon trading, Bio-Rad shares added 3 cents to $91.34.
