SANTA ROSA, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Mar 10, 2009 -- Burst.com, Inc. (Other OTC:BRST.PK - News) today announced that it has completed the sale of U.S. patent number 7,272,298 titled "System and Method for Time-Shifted Program Viewing," and a series of 5 related patent applications, to a non-affiliated corporation, for $2.3 million. The patent was issued on September 18, 2007. The purchaser was not publicly identified by mutual agreement of the parties to this transaction.
According to Burst.com Chairman & CEO Richard Lang, "After a lengthy process of evaluating the time and risk-weighted returns associated with alternative monetization paths, we determined that the best return for our shareholders, for this patent, was this sale."
