Calian Receives Canada Award for Excellence Gold Trophy - Healthy Workplace(R)

KANATA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - 09/08/09) - Calian (TSX:CTY - News) is pleased to announce that on September 8th, the National Quality Institute (NQI) announced that the Business and Technology Services Division of Calian had completed the Progressive Excellence Program (PEP) to Level 4 for Healthy Workplace� and had received the Canada Award for Excellence - Gold Trophy.

The NQI's four stage PEP is designed to facilitate the implementation of world class best practices in the areas of business excellence and healthy workplace in Canadian organizations.

BTS's vision for wellness is to provide a healthy and safe environment that enables the organization and its workforce to reach an optimal state of well-being and employment satisfaction. During its PEP assessment review BTS was complimented on the following strengths:

- Initiatives to reach the Healthy Workplace� objectives, balanced between Physical Environment, Occupational Health and Safety and Health / Lifestyle Practices;
