Calian Wins a New 2 Year $10 Million Contract With DND

KANATA, ONTARIO--(MARKET WIRE)--Dec 24, 2008 -- Calian Technologies Ltd. (Toronto:CTY.TO - News) is pleased to announce that it's BTS division has been awarded a limitation of expenditure contract by the Department of National Defence (DND) to perform vehicle maintenance at CFB Wainwright.

The contract is for an initial fifteen month period valued at 5.0 million and scheduled to begin in January 2009. The contract also contains an option for an additional one-year period, which if exercised, could see the total value of the contract approximate $10 million. The contract represents a new opportunity for Calian to increase the services provided to DND and is an expansion of the services Calian had previously supplied to the Department in support of Light Armoured Vehicles (LAV) located in Wainwright.

Under the terms of the contract, Calian's BTS Division will conduct vehicle exercising, servicing as required, equipment inspections, and repair on approximately 800 Wheeled Standard Military Pattern (SMP), Militarized Commercial and Commercial Pattern Vehicle and trailers for the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre (CMTC) at CFB Wainwright Alberta. Service delivery is expected to commence early in the New Year.
